Zborovskiy is off to a nice start. 8 points in 11 games. Always exciting to see a righty defenseman prospect do well since we barely have any in the pipeline. Tambellini scored 2 last night giving him 4 goals, 1 A in 5 AHL games. I didn't think he would do well early on. I'm shocked. I thought it would take him 40 games to adjust. This is a great sign. He had 8 shots on goal last night as well. Graves had 1 G and 1 A. Should hear reports on his defensive game coming in. Fogarty is off to a big start in his senior year. Don't expect much of him as a prospect but it's nice to see him with 6 points in 3 games. Nieves as usual blows. He's a clown. Euro prospects are doing fine. Especially Kovac. Gropp has his head up his ass to start the season.
I am really interested to see how Tambellini progresses. Also Brady Skjei and Petr Zamorsky on D. The farm system has to keep producing so we will not be seeing anymore Boyles on the Rangers!
Tambellini has slowed down. Basically, the Pack suck right now. Not unexpected. The Rangers use their AHL team to develop talent. A lot of youth on that squad. Other moron organizations fill those rosters with old bastards which is why they don't produce squat compared to the Rangers with young players from the AHL. I figure it will take Graves and Tambellini 2 years at the AHL to be NHL ready. Skjei one year. Should be interesting to see what right handed defenseman Andersson and Zamorsky do. Right now Zamorsky appears to suck. I don't have much hope for either but perhaps because they are righties, one can stick around as a 7th defenseman. Euro prospects are doing fine. Gropp has picked it up a little. He now has 7 goals. Nieves proves game after game he sucks. We can only pray somebody is dumb enough to trade for him. He is a candyass.
Rangers' top farm team, Hartford Whalers, shut out twice this weekend by Devils and Islanders' squads...... 4-0 and 1-0 respectively. There is no one at this time who can give the Rangers any insurance in case of injuries. Pray the Rangers stay healthy for a long long time.
Not that they are high quality NHL'ers or anything, but in the event of injuries, don't we have Glass and Megna that would be decent depth forwards (Summers too), and Skjei as a good D call up?
^^^^^^Skjei is a year away. Do not want Glass back on the parent club though team mates love the guy........he cannot score and is a detriment to his line mates. He is showing negative numbers in Hartford. There is a prospect who may pay dividends later this year........... his name is Pavel Buchnevich. He is everything Ranger fans dream about with his on ice wizardry!
Kovacs is doing great in the Swed 1 League. He has 9 goals and 14 points in 18 games. I'd like to see the Rangers sign his teammate Malte Stromwall who has 17 goals and 26 points in 20 games who is 21 and is a righty shot. Basically, the Pack suck and have little talent up front. How much of a gamble could it be? I'd prefer they trade Nieves and Forgarty now for picks. To me, Iverson will eventually be a 4th liner for us. He's a great skater for his size. The guy is huge. He's also got a mean streak. He's having a better year in juniors with 14 points in 18 games. Gropp scored his 9th last night. I think he's due to break out big soon. Tambellini scored his 5th for the crappy Pack. That's good. Buchnevich KHL team absolutely sucks. So, hard for him to put up big numbers there. He has 19 points in 26 games which is amazing on that team. Shesterkin in the VHL is has a 1.18 GA average with a .953% and 3 shutouts. To me, he is the goalie of our future.
Gropp had the natural hat trick last night. Now 13 goals in 18 games. He's really picked it up. Saarela is a guy to watch. He was at one time viewed a potential number 1 pick in the draft. He's got 7 goals right now in what I consider the best league outside the NHL. The KHL IMO is overrated. Rangers potentially it a HR there.
Our AHL team freakin blowwwwwwwwws. That's what happens when you trade number 1 picks away each year. The only player worth crap on that team right now is Skjei, our last number 1 pick. Graves is doing OK. Tambellini simply has no veteran help. The vets on that team suck.
I know its second guessing but I'd like a do over on the yandle trade and have Duke, skjei on d and that first round pick back for yandle who from what I've seen so far is vastly over rated
Unfortunately mel i may have to agree with you, we are not seeing the player that we drooled over for the past 3 or 4 years. But..at the time it was a move that seemed very good at the time. Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
Who was drooling over him? Oh. He will still be a big help over the course of the year and is on pace for over 40 points still.
Foe three years people were talking about him...seems like all the way back to the rosival days people were clamoring to bring in yandel Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
It's amazing how many morons on HF don't realize that Nieves absolutely freakin sucks as a prospect. They should give him away at this point.

Saarela with 2 more goals. I believe he has 6 to 8 goals in his last 10 something games in the top Finish league. Looking more and more like the Rangers found themselves another Lindberg. Farm really needed that. That scrub Nieves actually did something last night though it was against Wisconsin who freakin sucks this year. Tambellini scored which was nice for the kid. He hasn't scored forever. The Pack suck.
What worries me is the organizations stupidity of giving away tons of first rounders and not making any effort to draft right handed shots up front. Islanders have had 5 first round picks the last 3 years. 2 of the 4 forwards are right handed shots, the defenseman is a right handed shot. All have done very well as prospects. Another reason why I feel it's important they deal Yandle for at least a 1st round pick and perhaps a right handed shooting forward with excellent offensive upside. I was just looking at this. Vrbata is in the last year of his contract. He's having a horrible season after a great season the year before. He's a righty shot. Vancouver is going into the toilet. You might be able to deal them Glass, Boyle and a prospect like Nieves who I know sucks but the rest of the world might not be convinced of that for Vrbata. The money is even. They are using a bunch of kids on defense and up front over there. At this point, they could use some vet help on the back end and free up a top 6 forward spot for one of the kids.
