Im not your son... 300 something posts isnt much history. I just feel like this guy wouldnt be the only person to know about this "rumor" of a trade (that couldnt even go through for another month). Theres no buzz anywhere. Cmon man, its common sense. But I guess since I havent trolled over my 1800 or so posts that I can make up a bogus rumor and have yall believe me.
I don't know Hank, but I'd think that what a dwarf would be in good position to hear would be farts. barfo
There are several elements about trade rumors that people can't seem to comprehend... let me lay this out for you clearly and concisely. There are in fact people who do have contacts and do hear things. I personally know half a dozen different people who are in communication with a GM here or an agent there maybe a coach or 2 etc...etc.. People who hear things from a valid source that they have established via personal relationships don't have links to share or validate their claim. People who hear things from a valid source will never disclose who they heard it from, that is the equivalent of a major tossing under the bus and can get people fired, remember that Blazers assistant coach this summer? So if a person comes in and says they have info there are ways in which we should or shouldn't react.... let's start with the what not to do. Don't demand a link... it doesn't exist. Don't demand to know sources... they won't be disclosed. What to do. Discuss the merits of the "rumor". Make the discussion be about the rumor not the person posting the rumor. Now there are some exceptions. Obviously if the trade is exceptionally lopsided as presented some doubt should be in play. Also if the poster is routinely posting outlandish stuff... kind hard to dig it. Mostly remember it's a public location forum, not a court of law.
I don't know if this is not too much to replace Kaman with Lopez because we'd be bringing someone an all-star for someone who doesn't play which means less playing time for the other bigs BUT Brook Lopez may not be the better Lopez, maybe just the slightly better, but he is a very good center, a better scorer than his brother and his defense is underrated.
I wonder if we could work out a deal for Kaman/Leonard. They do it to get younger/healthier, we do it because some team is going to offer Leonard a Kanter-like stupid contract and we'll be forced to either let him go or match it (and force Vonleh/Alexander/Aminu to not play at their best position of PF). You split P/T at center 50:50 between Plumlee and Lopez, Plumlee starting. You tell Lopez that the deal is in exchange for getting the fuck out of Brooklyn, he comes off the bench behind Plumlee. He's a massive injury waiting to happen, so maybe he's ok with that. He'd get to destroy second units running pick-and-rolls with CJ, and odds are he'd finish a lot of games because he can hit a free throw. I like this idea a lot.
Oh I remember the stumpy one, was shocked to see him posting, there was an article yesterday that their idiot GM was exploring trade opps for the team as a blow up seems likely - remember he's the guy that allowed us to get Lillardin the Wallace draft pic trade so I would not mind doin biz with him!
Yep as long as he can stay healthy which has not been a good bet, then again the Blazers are not likely to be able to use the capspace for a needle moving FA acquisitions so we may have to take some risk , so a trade like this or some other could be likely - who else has the capspace before next summer? pretty much us as Philly has used a decent it
Absorbing salary is probably the biggest 'asset' we send over. The expiring contract of Kaman is a given but IF this is true I think Meyers will likely be in the package - that or send Plumlee to a third team.
If we were to get Lopez I would move Davis into the starting line up. Lopez is just a better version of Meyers.
