I was discussing the 2007-08 season in the other thread and it reminded me of all I loved about Travis Outlaw. Enjoy.

Here's the shot that started the 13 game win streak:

Here's another that season. I was at this one:

And who can forget this game winning block:

He had two other game winners that season that I can't find on YouTube anymore. Also can't find his back to back alley oops dunks from passes by Sergio from half court at the end of that season. Used to be on YouTube. Anyone have it?

Here are two more game winners from the next season:

For fun, here he is dunking on KG:

Say what you will about Travis, but I really liked him and the way he fit in with that group. He had his best years here.

I wonder what he's up to? If his dad is still sheriff? Sheriff Outlaw!

I thought Travis was great when used correctly. He was a blunt instrument, to use the line from Casino Royale. But when utilized correctly he was deadly.

Not really. In Portland he was on a very team friendly deal. They traded him before he became a salary albatross.

Outlaw had one NBA skill, a one dribble pull up jumper that was most effective when being guarded by slower power forwards. Teams didn't like going small back then, so Outlaw was able to get his shot off against anybody.

Even if he was exactly the same player today, his role on an NBA team would be minimal.

My fondest memory of Outlaw is when Quick visited him in Mississippi and sat on fire ants.

Travis was having a great season before he got hurt and that was it, he never played for us again. Got traded to Clippers when they sucked. Sad way to leave the team.
