The only outrage is from Democrat media outlets. Nobody else really gives a shit what starbucks does. There's been no "outcry" anywhere other than a tongue in cheek blog that apparently was too clever for Dems to understand. Maybe he should have used green font? For the record, Starbucks has confirmed they did it specifically to suck in more anti-christian consumers. Major fail. I am an atheist who already boycotts Starbucks mainly because they are overpriced, use slave labor, dodge their taxes, harm the environment, and are usually populated with vacuous, narcissistic yuppies who hate America.
You're a little wrong there Maris, it's the conservative news outlets leading this charge. It's part of the annual "War on Christmas!" that American Christians seem to believe their the victim of. Why would god hating liberals care if angels and other Christmas/Christian symbols were on their coffee?
Awww... you're expecting a serious response. How cute. here's a hint: He claims starbucks confirmed that they did this to appease their anti- christian customers. If there was ever a more bull shit response, I'd like to find it.
Nah. O'Reilly said he didn't see what the fuss was about. In any group these days there's always an element who like to whine and Christians are no different in that respect. But don't go painting too broad of a picture with applying the victim label to "American Christians". Most of us know that this is of absolutely no consequence to anybody.
Donald Trump: 'Maybe we should boycott Starbucks' http://www.cnn.com/2015/11/09/politics/donald-trump-starbucks-boycott-christmas/
Starbucks holiday cups set off 'war on Christmas' outcry But some religious conservatives saw the new cup as an affront to tradition and yet another example of what some have called the "war on Christmas" — the taking of religion out of the Yuletide season by doing such things as greeting customers with "Happy holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas." http://www.nola.com/business/index.ssf/2015/11/starbucks_holiday_cups_cause_w.html
Yes, and I agreed that there's a whiny element of conservative Christians who see an affront where none really exists. Gee, that's pretty rare in America today. Oh, wait, we're pretty much a nation of butt-hurt whiners.
Ive never understood this "war" Im christian and hate christmas. First off Jesus was born in tax season and most historical texts would agree he was born closer to august/september. Secondly the only mention of a tree being decorated In the bible was not to celebrate anything christian but was being done by king nebuchadnezzar one of the biggest pictures of the anti christ in the old testament. (Though I believe he got saved at the last minute, a picture of grace) Catholics essentially adopted most of our holidays and tried to put a christian spin on it. I despise the catholic church for many reasons this being a very minor one. A question I would ask christians is why have you turned this shitty cup into an idol? I dont celebrate any holidays simply because im single and dont have kids. Why cant people just celebrate how ever they please and shut the fuck up about what is right and wrong for everyone else? Oh thats right, money.
I find it hilarious to think what the biblical version of Jesus would think of this tempest-in-a-teacup bullshit; a holiday little more than a hedonistic orgy of spending on shit nobody needs for people that don't appreciate it.
You're kidding right? The Christians are all out over Facebook over this bullshit. Fox News has been covering it and Donald Trump made mention of it earlier. The illogical outrage has nothing to do with Democrats and liberals at all.
Damn man... That sounds lonely, and sad. No offense... I just take the religion out of holidays and treat these ones as a time to get together with friends and family etc while getting paid by work! but seriously... I agree celebrate how you want. except barfo that commie!
Ill hang out with family or what ever but to me the spirit of holidays has been sucked out long ago and replaced with adverts and consumerism. I stopped buying gifts years ago and always request no one get me anything. Im sure if I had a girl friend or wife id be less of a scrooge and get them some sort of trinket from the heart or something practical. If I had kids id definitely have fun with it and allow them to decide how they felt about the bullshit when they were older. Im definitely not one of those religious jackasses that would force their kids not to celebrate anything. I guess balance is all im after. I give gifts to those I love randomly without special days as an excuse. Hell I gave my sister $200 today because her dead beat baby daddy doesnt pay child support and her daughter needed something for school. Stuff like that is more important than a bunch of shit under a tree to me at least. And im pretty sure jesus would help people before giving a shit about a cup decoration.
