Lots of chances at both ends today. Need to convert those odd man opportunities.

Finally, Kreider beats somebody's ass. He should do that regularly.

If refs called cheap shot on Derek, Kreids does not get
tossed. Good to see Kreids kick some ass.

Zack Smith went right for Derek's head. Stupid ref called "interference".
    Bullshit call.

For what Kreids did, team will win.

Only thing wrong with kreids reaction and subsequent asskicking was the ref's interpretation of what everyone in the arena saw and his baffling divying out of penalty minutes

Honestly, Lindberg and Zuccarello are the ones with any sense of how to make a play right now.

Boyle of all people wins it in the shootout. The incredible start continues.

Even though I want Big Mac to play more I was very happy for boyle to come through with the game winning goal. Its tough for any player thats been a star and coming to the end of a career.

Where are the oh Boyle is killing us and we need McIlrath posts now...LOL. I kid, but I still say playing Boyle over McIlrath as our 6th dman is not a huge issue or game changer for us, even though I would have played McIlrath more than 3 games so far.

And 71...at 13-2-2 I think more than just Zucc and Lindberg have a clue how to make a play right now...funny.

Girardi looked like he was dragging today. Wonder if AV gives him a breather tommorrow for big mac and leaves boyle out there.

I don't know why anyone would say 'we need McIlrath now'. If he was worth a darn he would be playing more than 1/8 games. The coaching staff is obviously hesitant to put him in there even with Boyle playing like he's 50. They should deal him with D.Moore and a pick or prospect for a 4th line upgrade. Then just bring up Skjei by Jan. Skjei is much much more valuable than DMc.

Spare me 71. You're just being a moron now. It's obvious to anybody with a clue on hockey that Boyle sucks compared to McIlrath. You're so clueless on McIlrath it's mind boggling. Do you grasp the concept that this team doesn't have any right handed defenseman in the system worth crap other than McIlrath? Not to mention the fact against big teams like Washington and St. Louis this team was held in their own zone for at least 2 periods. If it wasn't for dumb luck they would have lost both of those games. Our defense is soft. Period. They don't hit and they don't play well against big teams. Against the 4 big teams they played this year in Winnipeg, Columbus, Washington and St. Louis they are 4-1 due 100% to Lundqvist standing on his head and the offense saving their sorry asses. In three of those wins it was nothing but dumb luck. The team was dominated in 3 of the games. That's a fact. It's because the defenseman are not physical.

Spare me the coaching staff crap. The same coaching staff were f'n morons last year and played Glass all season instead of calling up Lindberg after the mid point in the season. Ruined our 4th line which was a factor in the team getting knocked out. They got no offense from the 4th line all year.
