Obviously the young guys need experience, but Kaman is still a quality post player who can demonstrate to the young un's how to win late in the game. His passing skills and team D alone would all but cure what has ailed our team thus far(minus backcourt D, but Henderson will see to that). I'm not suggesting extended burn, but he will help us win games now-- Not as an individual, but as part of a team. A reliable pick and roll option who can shoot the 12-15 footer and pass to the open man in the 4 on 3 should not be overlooked.

Not to mention, playing him over guys like Alexander and Vonleh should make them try all the harder to get in the game

Meyers has very slow reaction times. Some mistake it for lack of effort. He can be a good shooting big man role player but I just don't see him ever being a quality NBA starter.

I've said it once, and I'll say it again: it's time for Meyers to bulk up that muscle. He's got the right frame to be Dwight Howard's size with muscle mass.

Haven't had a chance to read your posts on Kaman. One thing I want add, a lot of people don't know this, but he has a very interesting relationship with Dame. They are real close. Kaman will sit down and they have some real cool conversations.

Playing Kaman 15mpg will still let the young guys get all the minutes they can. Cliff and Ed can't shoot to play with Plumlee, and Vonleh probably isn't ready to be put in a starting role so Kaman gets the nod in big matchup by default. I expect Noah and Ed to have more minutes that him.

Slow reaction is a lack of effort. If he was engaged in the flow of the game he would be able to anticipate a lot of the troubles he runs (or stands passively) into. Perhaps he has problems with attention span or something similar, but he is quick as a cat when he knows where he's going. He should be much quicker on the draw defensively, especially with weakside rim protection, than he is and it's because he is not focused on the game.

    well said.

Also his passing is the best (yes, you too Mason) of any big on our roster. Great vision out of the post or on the face up.

Also the spins. Gotta love those spins

I would start Vonleh. Throw him in and see what the kid can do without the quick hook.

If he was playing well off the bench this year than sure. But he's literally been the worst player on our roster for weeks; exposing him even more and getting outplayed against all stars could set his development back months.

Jermaine O'Neal looked horrible as well until he got to Indy and they put him out there and said just relax and play your game. Young guys press too much. They're afraid of making mistakes. Some players don't play well off the bench. What do we have to lose? Just make it clear that we expect him to make mistakes and to just relax and play.

If we assume the CAP will be about $89M, then the max salary of a 0-6 yr vet will be about $21M. The max salary of a 7-9 yr vet will be about $25M. Some variables are Harkless ($7.2M cap hold), Crabbe ($1.2M cap hold), and Frazier ($1.1M cap hold). We need to throw in about $2.5M for a first round draft choice (about #8).

All those things considered, the Blazers will have about $23M in cap space. That means we could offer Meyers Leonard up to about $9.5M/yr and still have enough to offer a 0-6 yr vet max money.

Over/Under on spin moves per touch? I'm going with a solid 50%

That was Jermaines what 6th year in the league? This is Vonleh 2nd and arguably his first since he was injured so much of last year.

Kaman has no business playing on our team. And sure he's a fine passer, but I got tired of him being a black hole down low and getting stripped ALL THE TIME last year.

I owe everyone and the Blazers an apology. I am to blame for this injury I think.
So I bought his jersey when we won the OT preseason game. I didnt wear it again until I went to the Grizzlies game that we kicked as in. Then we lost every game until this game came up.
I said, you know what? Time to put the Jersey on.... so I wore the Jersey fo the first time since the Grizz win and he gets injured. The thing is, even though we lost the last few games, he was noticeably playing better...Then I put the fucking Jersey on....
Do I just burn it now and get it over with?.....Fuck!

Ohh Im absolutely to blame. I had HCP ask Meyers himself. Yep. He said he felt his Jersey tighten up right before the injury ( that must have been my fat ass pulling it over my head).

Just a testament to the fact that just because your a big white guy, doesn't mean you have to buy the big white guy's Jersey... (Shoulda went with the Zero)
