During a recent game a couple people PM'd me links to stream the Blazer games and those links ended up corrupted and I got a browser hijacking. I had to pay hundreds of dollars to get apple service needed to correct the issue.

If you use any streaming link, make sure it does not require any downloads to operate.

Could you give a little more detail? Like did just clicking on the link automatically download something?

I've never had any issues with links that get posted on www.reddit.com/r/nbastreams

Don't download anything that those sites tell you to. There are enough streams that are plugin based that shouldn't be a problem. The issue is they throw a bunch of programs at you that LOOKS like they have to be installed. Don't install them, they're all ads and malware. Most of these ad/programs have multiple "x" so you have to click the right one to close them. Just keep clicking the "x"s until you have closed all the ads and the stream should show up. Just be smart about it. If a site is telling you to install something and it doesn't seem like you can access the stream, just pick a new one. You shouldn't ever have to install anything.

So free illegal streaming sites are full of malware and viruses? How dishonest of those sites to harm their legitimate end users.

Firefox with adblock, don't download anything streaming sites offer you. Most sites use flash and your flash should always be current.

    Good post.

A lot of times they try to tell you that you need to update your flash player. They then make it seem like you are updating flash player, when really you are installing adware. Any time anyone tells you that a legitimate program is out of date you should always take it upon yourself to go to said programs home page and download it directly from them, never from a 3rd party site.

Chrome with Disconnect, Ublock Origin, Ghostery, and Web of Trust = you have to really try to get a virus.

Never had a problem with adblock, but I'll definitely give uBlock a look.

It gets annoying when I have to turn off ghostery just to watch videos on ESPN.

Ha, isn't Further Jewish? That could conceivably be quite an offensive auto-correct.

This is what I use, and it's never let me down. A couple of exceptions to this would be FirstRow and select streams on another popular site. There, you have to disable adblocker, and it's a pain in the fucking ass going through and closing all the popups.
