Re: Is our 'war on terror' actually working? The last couple years there have been very few big attacks around the world, our stations around the world have not been attacked, we have had no terror attack in America in over 5 years, we've been catching the knuckleheads in this country and overseas. I know it's been a short period of time but don't things seem to be better? Opinions.
Re: Is our 'war on terror' actually working? It exterminated the Taliban - but it seems like the war on terror has only made the fire stronger for the other terrorist groups. The whole Iraqi insurgency is def new, and now thats a very strong force.Hamas, and all the other existing terrorist groups have another reason to hate the US.overall I don't think we've improved anything - we've only made things worse imo.
Re: Is our 'war on terror' actually working? As we defeat the Taliban, and recess al-qaeda(sp), other organizations get stronger, hezbollah, hamas, etc.
Re: Is our 'war on terror' actually working? No, it's just like Borat said. It's more of a war OF terror.
Re: Is our 'war on terror' actually working? Yes the War on Terror is working. for the most part Afghanistan has been quelled; yeah there is a surge in violence every now and than but Afghanis has been fighting each other, or another group nearly every day since the dawn of time. I see the insurgency in Iraq as a differnt war from the war on terror. In Iraq you have groups of people who are more or less vying for power over one another. also, the insurgence can recruit more easily because a lot of people feel that the US is unjustified, but Al Quida doesn't have that luxary, because the war on terror is definatly justified.

Re: Is our 'war on terror' actually working? Well instead of smartass comments, why don't you educate us Mr. Smartie pants? The Taliban originated in Pakistan but he's saying that it's been slowed down in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan because of us going there, which is true. Obviously Taliban fighters are in Pakistan (a lot of the heads) but for the most part it's been good in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. We have no control over what they do in Pakistan Pervez Musharraf claims to be an ally (which he really isn't). Afghanistan has not being in constant warfare? Greeks, Arabs, Turks, Mongols, British and the Soviets have all been through there and it's a war ravaged hell hole.

Exterminate means something like kill off or 'wipe out'. Exterminate is the wrong word if he meant what you say he meant, as the Taliban is still a functioning group. The war of information is clearly working....
Re: Is our 'war on terror' actually working? I checked wikipedia for Afghanistan invaders, I only know of the Greeks/Russians but it turns out there was a lot more. Instead of adding anything you just made more smart ass remarks. Thanks.
Re: Is our 'war on terror' actually working? I am well aware of the history of Afghanistan, the area has never really been stable. even when it was ruled by mighty empires there was always striff with ethnic groups within the region. The reason Afghanistan is such a war torn place today is because of the number of times its been invaded and resettled.

Re: Is our 'war on terror' actually working? Maybe a better job from a management standpoint and some f*cking patience and support from the ever-growing pussy-population in America and it will be much more efficient.
