As much as I dislike the Red Sox I did respect Teddy Ball Game, Evans, Fisk, and Yaz to name a few. I don't have any respect for the Big Sloppi I wonder if that dumb ass thinks he's going to get the same exit from the game accorded to Jeter and Mo.

...remember how when the news came out that Ortiz's name was on "the list", he immediately vowed to get to the bottom of how/why his name appeared on the list as let us all know the results?...not word since then.

...fuck Ortiz. As far as DH's go, if they elect that POS to the HOF before Edgar Martinez, fuck the HOF too.

Ortiz desiring to get to the bottom of his situation was akin to OJ finding the real killers!

And here we are 12 years later & he's still a lying sack of shit.

And if ANY team gives him gifts for his 2016 swan song the'd be a bigger asshole then he is.

I still get an uncomfortable feeling when I think about Ortiz being HBP just three times in his career (at last check) by Yankee pitching.

You would think just by happenstance he would've been clipped a few more times if he was facing a good logical diet of inside pitching.

I remember an incident a few years ago where he did get HBP ....I believe it was a Sunday night game....it was the result of his antics/bat flipping the previous game when he homered.....this was kinda anticipated and was talked about in the media leading up to the game- well, when he came to bat, the Yankee pitcher (I can't remember who) DID hit him on his backside.
The next time up he wanted no part of it and Kd as he weakly flailed away at an outside breaking ball.

Makes you wonder how things may have been just a little different through the years if he was "inadvertently" hit a bit more often with pitches.
This is probably the biggest difference (IMHO) in pitching from today and 50 or so years ago.
The brushback pitch/ tight pitching was as big a part of many pitcher's repertoire as a curveball or fastball.
