Today is the last day that the NBA will use the new microfiber ball this season. The leather will return tomorrow. I've heard that this new ball will comeback sooner or later after some modifications, but as for now, the leather will comeback. I don't think Stern made the right decision. They should have played out the season with this new ball, and then went back in the offseason. The players shouldn't have to make new adjustments midway through the season.
The players will be fine. It's the ball that they've used for forever, the adjusting won't take too long. The Suns have already been practicing with it again. I'd rather have the ball that everyone likes be used during the most important part of the season. The experiment failed so he should have switched it.
Well, I agree that they should have brought it back at start of next season, but I am still glad that they brought it back in the first place.
I'd love to see them complain about the leather...But I can't hurt Stern for it. He had a good motive, tried to make a good change. It just backfired. It's a good thing he went back though, because it was obviously not doing much good for anyone.
I think that they will bring that ball back though. I've heard that they would, on ESPN. It will have some modifications though.
IMO that's a bad idea switching midseason. Yes people have been using it their whole lives, it just doesn't seem right to completely change the equipment midseason.
There are gonna be alot of missed shots for a short while. Some of the teams early season problems may have come from this ball adjustment it's going to be annoying going back again already, they shouldve just played the season out. Either way I like the leather ball better so after the adjustment I'll be happy.

That question becomes legit if it goes into like 45 overtimes :dribble:
Do they keep the old layout of it with the lines not going all the way around? Or are they going back to the full lines on the side of the ball?

I mean they have a game tonight with this ball, then tomorrow they have another game (on the road, mind you, meaning very little practice time with it) tomorrow with the old ball.

It's only balls.
