The Astros are interested in trading for Andrew Miller as per Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe.

I'm sure the Astros ARE indeed interested in Andrew Miller.....and they won't be getting him IMHO, unless two things happen:
    1) the Yanks receive at least one or two VERY GOOD young major league ready players.
    and
    2) the Yanks have another deal in the works for a top closer or set-up guy. In the later case, they will then move Betances into the closer role.

Why are the Yankees even discussing this guy, He & Betances have to be the best set up / closer combination in baseball, why would you fuck with that?

Yeah, Miller has been great- his numbers past two seasons might be the best of any relief pitcher....
I think all of this crap is the result of Cashman making the comment a couple weeks back that he'd be willing to listen to all offers on "anyone".
So the media is running with it adding a suggestion or two and naturally the other teams are curious.
I doubt if Miller is going anywhere unless the Yanks are overwhelmed or something.

May I add- if Cashman does trade Miller without securing some other "top" closer or setup guy.........@=$@-#%"#%!

"A longtime friend" of Robinson Cano told The New York Daily News that Cano is unhappy in Seattle and would "love to somehow find his way back to New York" as per John Harper.

...fuck Cano...why would he want to return to the very franchise that he claims "disrespected" him?

Cano hasn't earned his pay in the Emerald City, and he can't reclaim his past in the Bronx, even if he was coming back, which He's not...............(of course).

New York Post reports that the Yankees have let other teams know that Ivan Nova is available as per Joel Sherman.

Yeah he hasn't been very good as of late, I just don't think another team will bite.

...it has always amazed me that there are Yanx fans who think that other teams will bow down and take the Yanx's unwanted refuse as if it's a privilege to do business to do business with the almighty Yankees.

...it may have been that way at one time, but no longer...the Yanx's mystique doesn't woo or intimidate anyone anymore.

I won't find it surprising if Nova would fit into some team's rotation based on his age, past performance ability and being more than a full year removed from his surgery.
He can still throw 92-94 mph with a sharp breaking ball. I don't see him being "worse" than a couple of other #4-5 SP from a couple of A.L. division winners- one of which just won the WS and the other from north of the border. lol

Not to mention ANOTHER 20 or so MLB teams....oops, I just mentioned it.

All Fonts in Italics, from the article noted above.

bold blue font, my own remarks

    Reality Hurts

General manager Brian Cashman has a laundry list of issues to address heading into 2016.
(More like a year's worth of grocery lists).

The Yankees need to find starting pitching, bullpen and middle infield help; while sifting through a glutton of infield and DH platoon options.
(The boldest move Trashman can make, is to terminate his own contract).

The trade package for Nova would probably not bring back the type of players or prospects Yankees fans would expect.

Moreover, it could forecast a sign of a bigger move up Cashman’s sleeve for the likes of one of the ace starting pitchers on the market.
(I really doubt this will ever materialize)

With questions surrounding number-one starter Masahiro Tanaka (elbow), CC Sabathia's bout with alcoholism, and the inexperienced yet ultra-talented Luis Severino, the Yankees can ill afford to make a mistake if they look to retake control of the AL East in 2016.

Yankees put Chase Whitley on waivers. He was immediately
picked up by Tampa Bay. And 'the plan' keeps on giving!
