Any of you guys have this game, or played it yet? IMO, it's a top 3 game for the Xbox 360, and a must have if you're a fan of the GTA series.
I wrote this back in September on a different forum:Gameplay; 9A way to describe the gameplay in Saints Row is one word. That word? Awesome. Awesome is the way I would just want to describe a great game like this one. The look and the feel of Saints Row is simply amazing. The gameplay just condescends more to an urban style like the game it is. The ragdoll physics are great when you shoot someone in the car, while they are driving. They simply fall over, forward, etc. When they fall forward, they usually hit the horn of the car, making it beep. The feel of the gameplay is really nice, the controls are set up pretty good. There are some glitches, just like in every game, but no game killers. It's just minor in this game, as far as I've actually known. The vehicle damage on the game isn't the best in the world, but when you slam up against something, chances are that the vehicle will be a little dented, so if you plan on purchasing this game, plan on not counting on damage so much as you'd like. One thing that really sets apart this game [Saints Row] from GTA [Grand Theft Auto] while driving, is that when you are driving full speed, and hit a very hard wall, or run into something head on from the car, you might fly out of the windshield along with the "homie" that is rolling with you. To make a statement of the gameplay from the "row that belongs to the saints," is that the gameplay is copied from GTA, but more honed, polished, and much more improved realistically-wise straight and to the point.Presentation; 9.0I personally like the presentation setup in the game. It's easy to get around the menus from one part to another. The menu is setup easily, no difficult introductions to get use to it. You got your basic Single Player, Multiplayer, Options, and Extras as most games have. It seems pretty slim on how to get around from right there, but if you're talking about a game like Saints Row, then that's okay, because you don't need a huge menu, or anything. The only thing you need is to unpause the game and, pull out your Vice 9 and start popping some Vice Kings! Yeah! Sorry, I was just being a little enthusiastic. The cut scenes are done nicely, and the framerates are performed well. To add to that, the storyline is surprisingly better than I would had thought it would be.Sound; 9.0Saints Row has the "affect" of a GTA soundtrack, without having the AAA quality to back it up. Good voice acting and some funny one-liners and doused by really bad jokes that'll keep you wincing. And by the "affect" of the GTA soundtrack, you can already make a guess that this game has a most feel of a rap theme to it. With somes like "Grindin" by Clipse featuring Pharrell, "You Already Know," and "Milk 'Em" by Ghostface Killah, you will find yourself listening to it alot. Though, you hardcore rockers don't get discouraged just yet, there are many ways to keep you listening to your beloved heavy-metal music, with a few songs by Metallica, Reggie and the Full Effect, and others. I would say most rock fans would enjoy the game's music, regardless if they had to get past the "Sizzurp," "Kronic," and "KRHYME" stations just to be able to listen.Graphics; 9Solid next-gen graphics offering fantastic particle effects, good animation, and a steady framerate of 30 FPS are unfortunately countered by noticeable fade-in, texture and screen tearing, also the other few, which are minor graphical glitches added to the game. Without a doubt, driving past a tree, and seeing it's shadows just makes you wish that Groundhog's Day was on the game, just so you could see it's shadow!Replay Value; 10The substantial 30-40 hour single-player campaign (as what people have said the length was) is bolstered by a decent co-op mode and a great 12-person multiplayer mode. Not only the campaign that keeps you playing, but also the 12-type activity features that let you keep rolling and rolling as such the Insurance Fraud, Mayhem, Drug Trafficking, Demolition Derby, and much much more! Once you pop the game in, you'll find yourself playing more and more each day.Overall: 9.7
Seems like from what I've been reading and seeing...a complete ripoff of GTA. I don't care all that much about that. I'll rent this game, thanks for the good review.

I guess my point is, it's hard to be unique with these types of games, because they all are similar, but unique in their different ways just like Saints Row is in creation, and several different other aspects of the game.
I've been wanting to rent this for some time but my dad doesn't want to take me to BlockBuster because he has an insane amount of late fees due.
I heard from some people that I know personally that the game is a total rip-off of GTA and is a wannabe gangster type of thing but I haven't played it so I won't judge it. You make it sound like one of the best games of all-time.

He's a plumber who fights mushrooms but eats them at the same time.

After all the games that are similar to GTA like Mafia, the Godfather, True Crime, etc. It's hard for a game to not be called a ripoff of it now in days.

I picked up this game on Sunday, wow, it's awesome. It's total GTA rip-off but I don't give a sh*t. It's just like GTA with better graphics and in my opinion much easier/fun missions...The gang play in this game is incredable, I have gang/police wars in the streets with like 6 of my gangsters...it's pure mayhem, awesome...the gang fighting and territory fights are much better than GTA...it's a must own for anyone with a 360 in my opinion.Right now it's my favorite game.
I rented it about 3 weeks ago, and as soon as I started playing I said WOW what a total rip-off. And it is...it's exactly the same. Still, it's one of the funnest games to play and I loved it.
I beat this game in 2 days while I was sick, except for the missions after the games. It's so awesome and just pure fun.
I love this game, played it for like 4 hours straight at my friends house. It is an updated version of GTA for XBox 360 is the best I can put it.
A while ago I used to go to my friend's house for days in a row and just play Saints Row. Has everything u love from GTA and upgrades it. This game was mean but I haven't played it in a while now..
I have three big missions that I can't beat, I'm stuck....to pass the time I've been driving hookers around to earn money and customize my vehicles....

I've beaten pretty much everything in the game... maybe I can help. :dribble: Although I must say doing a lot of those side missions was a pain in the ass...
Does anyone know if the online is worth playing? I never tried it yet and if it's a waste of time I don't want to play it
