Last year, over 46 million people in the United States lived in poverty. http://www.census.gov/hhes/www/poverty/data/incpovhlth/2014/highlights.html 2. Right now, there are 9.4 millionaire Americans living below the poverty line than in 2007 — the last year before the recession. http://www.visualcapitalist.com/9-4-million-more-americans-below-poverty-line-than-pre-crisis-chart/ 3. The percentage of people living in poverty in 2014 was the highest it has been in the last 20 years, besides the years immediately following the recession. http://www.census.gov/hhes/www/poverty/data/incpovhlth/2014/highlights.html 4. One out of five children lived in poverty last year, continuing a devastating trend seen in each year of the Obama presidency. http://www.census.gov/hhes/www/poverty/data/incpovhlth/2014/highlights.html 5. Black children are three times more likely to be in poverty than white children. http://www.census.gov/content/dam/Census/library/publications/2014/demo/p60-249.pdf
That has nothing to do with the present administration and only has been caused by systematic racism. Yes I said it and fuck you who disagree.
I look at the graphs for change in the Obama years. I see a big worsening (upward slope) in the Bush Recession, followed by no worsening (horizontal line) in the Obama years. The source from which Magnifier copied and pasted (we liberals could copy and paste all day from our sites, but we write our original thoughts here, since we're not robots like conservatives) tried to be anti-Obama but was accidentally pro-Obama. Funny.
Man, can't we give it a rest on Thanksgiving? Plenty of blame to pass around to two equally inept and broken political parties. Now, pass me some turkey as I contemplate all of the great things going on in my life and this world.
It wasn't directed at you, specifically, Mags. Several of the posts are from today Same to you and your family on the Thanksgiving wishes.
