Lundqvist A+ Without him this team sucks. Nothing new here
    Raanta - See Hank
    Lindberg A+ Exceeded all expections
Zucc A+ Basically, after the goalies, he's saving this team along with Lindberg and his start.
Brassard B+ He's solid and his faceoffs have improved a ton
Klein B+ About the only bastard on our blueline with a clue
Nash B He's rallied a lot the past 2 weeks
Hayes B- Has had his moments but not many
Fast B- Solid in his role
McIlrath B- Had his best game as a Ranger, then was benched for a week by the assclown coach
Stoll C+ He's won his draws which is what he's supposed to do
Miller C Inconsistent but he's still learning. l
    D. Moore C- Looks like he's done.
    Yandle D+ Basically has sucked
Kreider D I'd give him an F if he didn't beat the crap out of the Sens guy
Stepan D- Sucks for what he's getting paid. His faceoff incompetence should be embarrassing to him but he doesn't give a crap
    Staal F Turnover machine
    McDonagh F Turnover machine
    Girardi F Turnover machine
Boyle F- Turnover machine and just sucks beyond belief
Stalberg F- Now we realize how much he sucks.

LOL...that is awesome. Keep on doing you dump. Amazing how all the dmen are F's (except for your beloved McIlrath) yet we have a HUGE + in goal differential as a team and all are + players...LOL.

Oh...and we are 16-4-2 as well.

    where is Etem's score?
D-men deserve at least C. Boyle is on the other hand I agree with.

Well said Step. And McIlrath deserves a inc. considering AV barely played him. Hopefully he starts to get some PT now and AV gives him a shot.

So I took a look back at some of the posts from last year at this time, and they were very similar. Difference then was Hank was the redheaded stepchild and getting knocked like our D is now. Saw a good deal of play Cam over Hank. Your big thing then dump was Hank is getting past his prime and stinks on breakaways now, which shows he is slowing down.

Fast forward a year and we have 10 more points than through 22 games last season. We have allowed 15 less goals than through 22 games last season. And now Hank is awesome again, and it is the D that stinks.

    Oh the joys of overreaction...LOL.

No doubt we have to tighten up and play MUCH better than we have the past 5 games including today, but I also know it is a LONG season and ups and downs happen. The way of life in the NHL.

In one thread you say you can't evaluate Dylan unless he's played two games in a row. Here you go ahead and give him a B-. Based on what? It's an incomplete because he hasn't had enough playing time yet.
As for the dmen...Yandle, Girardi, McD are all C's. Boyle is a D+. Stall is a D-. And if we can convince him to waive his NTC, we need to trade him.

Of course he is an incomplete 94. How can you grade a dman who has played 4 games...LOL. AV better play him again tomorrow.

I expect the D to play better and better as the season progresses...hope I am right. I think C's for all except for Klein (B) and Boyle (D) is fair. Staal to me would be a C- or D +. McDonagh has picked up his game recently. G has been better after his slow start. And Yandle I think has been in the middle overall.

I HOPE Dylan keeps playing, but I fully expect to see AV bench him for the rest of this game because of that awful penalty the refs called that lead to the tying goal. AV doesn't like fighting, doesn't like standing up for your teammates, doesn't like physical hockey. I doubt we see much of Dylan in the third and I can almost guarantee that he is benched for tomorrow's game.

The issue with Boyle is that at this point he's so Charmin soft in the defensive zone that unless he's paired with McD or Girardi, he's a huge liability back there. Staal, and Yandle aren't physical enough to be back with him and Klein is good enough to carry himself, but not a bad d partner.

I estimated the grade for Dylan on what I thought he would have gotten had the dumb coach played him. He was our best defenseman today vs. Boston. It wasn't close.

That's fine. But he also has had a stinker of a game too. I don't judge him on good or bad yet because he plays way too inconsistently. I wish he'd get like 10 straight games so we can see what we have with him. This one game for every ten played is horseshit and AV is fucking this kid over. Let's just see what he's got. If AV doesn't want to play him, just trade him then. He has value from the little bit we've seen. Not first round return value though.

That's awesome. I estimated his grade based on what I think he would have done if AV played him...LOL.

I am with you 94. AV needs to let the kid play a good 4 or 5 in a row at least and let's see what he has. I will be very angry if he sits tomorrow.

Staal has been just putrid so far and deserves no higher than a D-..and the others outside of Klein have been middling at best. McDonagh is underachieving for what's expected of him and Yandle needs to pick it up too, though he's on pace for 4/40 which is solid. Staal looks like he should be playing in an over 50 league.

Every defenseman other than Klein and McIlrath deserves an F. Two of the best games all season I've seen by a defenseman here belong to MacIlrath. Yet, our dense coach continues to scratch him.

Yeah, they don't dump, but no doubt Staal has struggled. The one contract I'd want back like I said. That will be a rough one soon.

And for the record...McIlrath BETTER be in the lineup today or I will be very angry with AV. I think he'll be in though. No way AV takes him out after sticking up for Stepan.

I WANT Dylan in the lineup. I just don't see AV doing it. He loves his vets (as we saw with Glass last year) and is afraid to hurt feelings by benching guys that actually deserve to be benched. I was however happy to see Dylan out there after his 10 minute misconduct ended. Didn't think AV would really give him a shot. I hope I'm wrong, but judging by AVs past, I just don't see him out there.
