The team is harder with him in the lineup. Boyle should never see the ice again

Now before i get jumped with moron comments...i am not blaming dylan for the losses...but...17 minutes playing with 5 dmen followed up with another game back to back of at least another 5 minutes playing with 5 dmen WHEN ALL THE BITCHING IS ABOUT HOW THE DEFENSE HAS BEEN PLAYING SHITTY.

We cant have our enforcer be a defenseman.

Same comment. Both right. Dylan should play over Boyle, but just by him playing we aren't now some big intimidating team, or a team that will win a bunch of games because McIlrath adds this toughness. That is way overblown in here by many. But McIlrath should play over Boyle.

That's idiotic. Gimme a break. McIlrath has been the only guy on defense with a clue the past 2 games. Even Klein has been lousy. Toughness is not overrated. It's the main reason this candyass team can't keep the puck in the other teams zone and the puck is in our zone all game. The team has no toughness on the boards. Period. All the more reason why I'm 100% in favor of getting Pouliot back and perhaps trying to add a forward like Stewart. Unfortunately, you have to give to get. However, I don't think those 2 guys are going to cost much. I think Dom or Boyle to the Oilers makes a lot of sense. Especially if Boyle will go there. I think Anaheim would take either Dom or Boyle as well.

AV should be going to the same eye doctor he says claude should be going to if he doesn't think Dylan permanently belongs in this lineup with what the kid brings.

So you dont think any coach would say to a fourth line player...hey get dylan into fight just to get the rangers down to 5 dmen for 5 minutes at a clip?

And btw there is a difference between being tough and being your enforcer

Al, thats happened a couple of times already with players trying to goad him into a fight and he didn't take the bait. His fights now are basically defending a teammate and someone coming after him after he lays a big hit on someone else

They probably are using that approach, especially since Staal and Girardi are basically shot by the 3rd period anyway.

As a side note...this is why I love Torts. He said this yesterday:

"It is what is it is. We aren't going to whine here, Pittsburgh can whine. Pittsburgh whines enough for the league so there isn't enough room for any other team to whine."

I would add Montreal and now Boston to that list, but yeah Torts is spot on...LOL.
