Who will win the NFL coach of the year award? My vote would go to Sean Payton. It's amazing the improvement New Orleans has had in the span of one year. Especially with a totally new coach, and system. Nobody expected the Saints to do this well.
The saints coach will win it because they're in New Orleans and there was a hurricane and blah, blah, blah... about the feel good storyBut Tony Dungy deserves to win it. The only thing that his team is weak of is the run D. And that's the gm's fault. Two consecutive seasons starting 9-0 is unbelieevable. Plus the Colts will win the Super Bowl this year.

I agree that Sean Payton has been a very great coach this season...but I have to give it to Eric Mangini. The Jet's were worse off than the Saints talent wise, now they are in the playoffs with a rag tag bunch...
I'm with BCB. What Mangini did with that team was amazing. As a Pats fan, most people are confident, but I am scared shitless of our playoff game with the Jets.HHAAHHAHA TONY DUNGY MY ASS PACERFAN
Mangini should get it. He did an awsome job with the Jets, and they suprised me..I thought they were a pretender.Sean Payton will win it because of the baloney sh*t Katrina factor. I know they'll give it to him, because of "what they had to go through" to become the team they are. When in reality they signed Brees, drafted Bush, got McCalister back, and they were just a fresh team coming into the season. Like BCB said, Saints had alot more talent, Jets just executed great, and coaching was outstanding..
Sean Payton will win it. I agree with the pick, but Eric Mangini is right behind. Give me a break Pacerfan. You sure do love your Indiana sports. A little too much. Brian Billick is another coach to consider.
Not that I think he will or should win it, but Bill Belichick should get some consideration. No one picked us to win the division. With no wideouts and a plethora of injuries he got us the Division and a 4 seed in the playoffs. He doesn't get enough credit.

He did get good, not the person who should win it.The Jets really surprised me. REALLY. Eric Mangini did an awesome job, it's too bad I don't look at the coach when it comes to the NFL. But yes, I agree with you guys. He has a good chance to win it.Sean Payton is another good choice too, CB4 thought they were the most overrated team when they were 4-2. They had a really good year.

Christ.
Oh yeah, how many of your teams went 9-0 two seasons in a row, had a coach who lost his son, have a record breaking team and players, have the best offense in the history of proffesional foortball, can win any game they want to, and are going to win a chip this year?Oh yeah, none.

You seriously think a team that lost to Tennessee and Houston and barely beat Miami and Buffalo is that great, huh? Well, okay.

He was known as a defensive coach, right? And his defenses have been HORRIBLE, they are a joke and with the Colts struggling down the stretch they just screwed up an easy change at getting a first round bye or home field for the entire playoffs. I like Dungy but he shouldn't even be a candidate, you are such a homer.
Only 2 names that should be mentioned in this thread are E. Mangini and S. Payton. Anyone else saying anything is just proving they're stupid.
OK Sean Payton's my pick now. I just saw on ESPN that the only team above .500 that the Jets beat was new england. Not really impressive...
Just b/c the Titans didn't make the playoffs, Jeff Fisher isn't getting any notice. The Titans have far less talent than the Saints and had to play in the AFC against harder teams. Vince Young wouldn't have developed this fast without Jeff Fisher.I think it's safe to say the top 2 are Jeff Fisher and Sean Payton (Mangini out because of the previous point by Ginger Jesus). Sean Payton will win because the Saints made the playoffs, but I take Jeff Fisher.
Peyton or Mangini, but I'd go Peyton because of where they've been for so long. Jets had one down year last year, mostly due to injuries.
