Payton deserves it more then Mangini, and I'm going to tell you why. New Orleans entire team was basically assembled during the offseason this year. The jets were a game away from the Championship game of their confrence 2 years ago I believe. Chad Pennington and many of the other parts of the Jets were there before mangini took the job

The team is a lot different. The Jets lost hall of fame runningback Curtis Martin, two pro-bowl offensive linemen in Jason Fabini and Kevin Mawae, in two years they have replaced their whole secondary and they lost their #1 passrusher on defense in John Abraham. I'm not going to discount what the Saints have done but I think the Jets have come a long way with such a bad overall roster.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Pacers fan forever @ Dec 31 2006, 10:07 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Oh yeah, how many of your teams went 9-0 two seasons in a row, had a coach who lost his son, have a record breaking team and players, have the best offense in the history of proffesional foortball, can win any game they want to, and are going to win a chip this year?Oh yeah, none.</div>Can win any game they want to? Give me a break. Then explain why they lost 4 games this season. What's your exuce? They lost becausee they wanted to? Give me a break. And how do you know they'll win the chip? There defense will have a hard enough time stopping LJ let alone LT in the 2nd round. Sure the Colts have a great offense but the Chargers offense isn't bad either and their defense is a hell of a lot better. Plus like ASUfan already mentioned, Indianapolis already had a good offense when Dungy came in and he is a defensive minded coach which he obviously isn't showing. Quit being such a homer. I mean give one legit reason why a coach should win COY when their 3 last losses came to teams not even in the playoffs and the defense became nonexistant.

Look at his bad stats with Hotlanta. Plus, you could say that the Jets running game hasn't lost much. They gained BJ Askew, who is a rising Fullback, and Kevin Barlow. Plus, the Jets have been able to maintain the same depth in the WR Core. L. Coles, J Cotchery and Justin McCareins. Plus, they have one of the BEST linebackers in the NFL, Jonathon Vilma, and an underrated Victor Hobson.

The Jets runninggame is pretty much a mess this year. Kevan Barlow is only an average runningback at best, his big problem has been picking up blitzes, he was so stupid the 49ers just gave up on him, even though he has a lot of talent and great size. Cotchery and Coles were a great combo this year, no doubt. Eric Barton is also a nice linebacker for them as well.

I wouldn't say Abraham was on the decline, lol.The Jets have improved, yes, but they got two great o-linemen in the draft, and Curtis Martin was starting to slow down anyway...plus, they didn't have him last year, and he wasnt that great two years ago..he was a horse but you could see he wasn't running nearly as well anymore.

He might of been having a little injury bug attack, but Curtis Martin wasn't slowing down. He started getting injured. In 2004 he had his best season of all time..
