".................to err is human." And so you are.

As for Cliff Lee, he is way too human.........the magic is gone....as is his arm.

...you could be right, CL..but it's not like he was pitching badly before his layoff...and who knows, maybe the extra rest may have helped.

...someone will give him a shot.

I'd give Cliff a shot on a short leash and a 1 year deal, for less than 10 MIL$$ which I bet Lee would not take. But hell if there are NO takers, then he has not much of an option to take table scraps, and try to resuscitate some semblance of past glory.....

tho' I don't expect much out of Him, yet there is always that possible element of surprise.....

then again, he could easily blow out a 4th time trying.....jury's out here in my mind for now anyway, other than the aforementioned.....

watch the Bosox pick him up for peanuts, or another AL team, and see Cliff have a spectacular year, or not. Odd's I'd say are against that happening, tho'......

    Couple of things.
Is the injury "healed"or is this some kind of touch and go situation?
Can he still touch at least 90 with his fastball fairly consistent?
    What's up with his salary?
He should still have that great curveball, good changeup and control.

If his injury is stabilized and he can still get it up there around 90mph I would definitely take a chance.......but for how much?

...that's the thing, no one knows yet what kind of deal he's expecting or will get...If I were the GM of whoever may give him a shot, it would be an incentive laden deal that would reward him if he stayed healthy and performed but would also protect the team if he did not.

...as far as his injury, this was the second time I believe that the same injury has occurred and both times he was encouraged to have surgery...but he tried to pitch through it and that didn't work, so he opted for rest/rehab.

If the price is right I'd give him an invite. Got nothing to lose.

    ...^^^

    Exactly...

I'd like to see MLB with the MLBPA, do something, anything to reduce out of control costs, not only exorbant Salaries, but also lowered Tix, Parking, Concessions, but we will never see it, Greed has its claws to fkng deep in all concerned, less a very few....

Lowered Salaries, with high end Incentive laden Contracts, ....

but what I really want to see is "Pay for Performance", hell even a "Performance Management Plan" for players, eg not really much different than incentive contracts......
