To be fair, I don't think it was a bad shot. I agree with Quick's assessment in general, but on that particular shot, Dame only had six seconds. He had to expect a quick double team if he drove, and I've seen Dame fumble in those situations. It's a risky move. Felton gave him enough space where he felt comfortable, and the shot looked good, just missed. Not terrible. But for the most part, yeah he's been chucking in the 4th.

Sadly if 95% of the coaches did that in the NBA with their star players, they'd get fired.

If Stotts truly wanted lillard taking that shot then he may have thought an isolation at the top was the best play. We have seen throughout this year that teams are willing to trap lillard at the end of games to get the ball out of his hands.

In terms of the 30 foot 3 lillard took, I also understand why he took that shot. Because there was virtually no movement on the play, the whole defense is just watching Lillard and waiting for him to attack ( think of the way Phoenix played our guards with Tyson chandler). If lillard attacks, he has to expect some sort of second defender help coming at the rim or off of the wing. Dame is not 6 ft 6 where he can attack to a mid range spot and just rise over the defender. Therefore, based on the play call, Dame either has to take a long jumper or he has to attack right away and be willing to make the correct basketball play and pass the ball if helps comes. Lebron gets criticism for passing in the clutch but he always gets his team better shots by doing so. The supporting players have to be ready to shoot if open. It is very unlikely the ref is going to call a foul in that situation unless it is a blatant foul.

would you rather allen crabbe or aminu shoot that 3 ball? part of being the best player is taking the tough shot. part of taking the tough shot is sometimes it doesnt go in. quit acting like spoiled curry fans and deal with the fact dame is good but cant shoot 100% in clutch.

"we should throws games for a pick"

"why isnt dame shooting 108% from the field in the 4th and winning every game?"

Where did anyone say any of these things?

We all want Dame shooting. He's one of the only playesr with the balls on our team.

Just not with a hand in his face from 40' when he has 6 seconds on the clock and a garbage defender in front of him as 8 other dudes watch him.

THAT (Indiana) is the kind of game I like to see from Lillard. Getting others involved, keeping the ball moving, and having a bit more of a chuck filter will lead to more success.

exactly, that is the way to play the 4th qtr, keep everyone involved and take good shots when you have them and forget the ISO ball, excellent game by Dame and the team!

Lillard played differently this game because either 1) he or the coaches read our complaints and ignored the homers in this thread, or 2) he and the coaches already knew he was fucking up, and didn't need to read this thread and ignore the homers in the thread and their excuses.

Not sure that Damon and LaMarcus were "run out of town". Damon's time here was done (as was his career basically), and Lamarcus chose to go back home because he knew he'd never win a title as the best player on a team.
