I think it would be the equivalent of Westboro Baptist Church getting their hands around a moderate Christian and brainwashing them into thinking that God is causing all of the violence or disasters because God hates gay people. Then the moderate Christian becomes more radical in his thinking until one day he decides to picket some innocent person's funeral. It's like that, except they murder people and ultimately die themselves in the name of their new found cause.
