awful IMO, after watching the last Five games, winning only One of those 5, and make this one loss #6? Barring the real A-Rod's Miracle Man performance, but the Pack missing Jordy Nelson, seems to have no hands to catch balls. One thing of note, when Rodgers lays the ball perfectly where only His receiver can catch it, and they don't catch it, and miss it by not laying out a bit more, or have off timing with their QB's throw timing. Then Rodger's more always looks the Receiver in the eye, and bumps his own chest, miming "It's my bad", while Tom Brady gets pissed off at His Receivers, when His Receiver's can't catch a ball, only the Defense can,....... I mentioned this last week, and got mocked for it......... "Playoffs, ......playoffs,.......did some one say" -
In sports teams that fall into a "down" trend have to work it out and it may take several games or the team may never get their 'mojo' back! It happens in all sports. It's called collapse or choke by many fans. But, hell............Rodgers won't let it take that long!
Your Welcome Lil'. The longer version like this, is better than the mere "Playoffs, playoffs," since Mora tells the Press why His Team stunk.... This was a Wild 4th Quarter Game. The Cheshire Cat pulled the White Rabbit out of the Mad Hatter's Stove Top Hat......no doubt..."The Miracle in Motown".
Its not often you see success on a last second hail mary but DAMN! what a comeback by the Packers. A last second face mask call against the Lions that gives the Packers one last shot at the end zone with literally no time on the clock, just an amazing finish.
...like I've said before, same ole "prevent defense" that prevents a team from winning the game. ...The ONLY way the Packers win is if the Lions give the Packers' receivers enough time to run 65 yards to the end zone and give Rodgers enough time to scramble around and throw up a prayer...so what do the Lions do defensively?...rush only 3 players of course, while the Packers keep 5 in to block...BRILLIANT !
Yup, Ron is right. Easy to blame the penalty but the Lions defense on the last play was hideous. There's no reason to rush just three guys in that situation. Rodgers only has one chance to toss that ball 70 yards and that's with a completely free running start to the line of scrimmage to put everything he has into it. Once they lost containment on him that allowed him to make the heave. Then what they were doing downfield in the end zone was beyond me. How every Lion defender ended up towards the back of the end zone was mind boggling.
...Mess, I'll never understand why teams still opt for this strategy...I've seen it happen 100s of times and the Raiders have lost 2 games this year that they should have won because of it. ...when you have a team down and you have dominated for 3 quarters, you keep your foot on their neck until the game is over. ...I mean, they were up 20-0, one more time, TWENTY TO NOTHING...you never give an opponent room for hope and the possibility of changing the whole momentum of the game...and that's exactly what happened. ..."prevent defense"... it's a joke.
That's also why it's always bogus when you hear nonsense about running up the score. It's not like the other team is going to try and not score. I hate when I see teams have a big lead at the half and play the second half in ultra conservative mode.
There is no such thing as prevent defense.......... all it does is to prevent a victory for the defensive team.
...you're right CL...I said the same thing in post #8 and I've been saying it for years. ...and it blows my mind that there are "defensive coordinators" who still have not figured this out...I mean, when you KNOW the other team HAS to pass why on earth would you only rush 3 guys?...you don't have to send an all out blitz but at least rush 4 or 5...the QB can't heave a 60 yard prayer if he's been knocked on his ass. ...mind boggling.
This is why the Pats remain successful. Cheating jokes and all that aside. They're superbly coached, their attention to every detail is unmatched and they don't do the prevent or call of the dogs type of stuff. People don't even get pissed off anymore when Brady is passing late in the fourth quarter when they have a comfortable lead.
I effing fell out of my chair, when Rodgers ran the ball in for a TD; and at that very moment, as the Camera revealed; Aaron had all Detroit's Linebacker's, and Secondary entirely, with their backs to Him, as he ran it in from what the 17, without even being touched......backs to the wall..... NTM- that last throw, with Rodger's hurling the ball up in a higher arc, what a genius shot, got a running start, and threw it too the moon, rather than a Flutie Arc Hail Mary at BC, Rodger's throw gave his entire Receiving corps the time to line up, and WTF- the entire Detroit backfield were BEHIND THE BALL, fkng Brilliantly executed...
...I've echoed this same thing before...bash 'em all you want but they're always prepared because of their "system"....and to be honest, I don't think Brady would flourished like he has under a different team. ...and as you mentioned, as for the teams crying about "running up the score"... try playing defense instead of whining about getting embarrassed. Same in Baseball, instead of lambasting Papi for hot dogging it after he hits a HR, here's an idea, try getting the bastid out for a change. ...not that I'm in any way a fan of the Pats, but I were their coach I'd have the "take no prisoners" and leave nothing to chance approach...I've seen baseball teams come back after being 9 runs down in the late innings...and I've seen football teams come back from 35 points down...it happens.
I don't think Brady would flourished like he has under a different team _____________ I lean the other way with Brady on this one. The N.E. Patriots high level of success through the years is attributed much more to Tom Brady than their "system" - imo. HE is the one who makes the difference- doesn't seem to matter how many different receivers or RBs they plug in through the years, or the difference types of receivers...he made Wes Welker what he is/was..lol. He has lead his team to more div titles (12) than any QB. In 2008 Brady got injured after the first reg season game- and the Pats failed to win the division, and failed to make the playoffs Brady is one of only two NFL players to win the reg season AND Super Bowl MVPs more than once. 66% pass completion in SIX Super Bowls with 13 TD, 4 INT Has thrown at least twice as many TDs as INT in every Super Bowl. These are GOOD teams he is facing- under pressure. Broke his own record for reg season TD/INT ratio 9:1 (full season) Set NFL record with 358 pass/att without and INT. A bit more than a "system" going on over here. On a side note- Brady is also the best QB I've seen at getting the tough "yard" on the QB sneak. Pats DO have a good system, and Belichick is a good coach, a defensive coach by trade-- when it comes to offense, a successfull passing attack and "winning", I think Belichick takes a seat and listens to Brady. Lol. jmho
