granted, Im basing it on stats, how is 9 points per game, shooting 41% from the floor (below his career average), 27% from 3 (worst of his career), lowest assists in his career (per 36) and an 8.7 PER killing it?

Did I miss the HUGE green font?

Congrats to Nic. He's been playing great so far this season. I can't help but wonder how he would be doing here if the Blazers had kept him and moved him to shooting guard like he's been playing in Charlotte. Sure, there was the risk he would leave after this year, and Vonleh may eventually turn out to be a really good player, but I would like to have seen Nic get the chance to play 2G in a Blazers offense where the ball wasn't dominated by LMA.

He wouldn't be playing SG, he would be playing SF. That said, a Dame/CJ/Batum/Aminu/Plumlee lineup would be interesting. A very "poor" man's version of Golden State.

Not in my scenario. Dame, Nic, Aminu, Leonard, Plumlee, with CJ playing 6th man backup at both guard spots is what I would have like to have seen.

I would have liked to see him play without LMA, period. People dogged Nic's defense, but he never had players behind him who were willing and/or capable of sliding to help out on defense - he was left on an island. I think he would have been great with Plumlee/Meyers/Davis. And offensively I think he and Plumlee/Meyers would wreck teams with side pick/rolls - Plumlee/Meyers have better hands, better footwork, and better vision/passing than Rolo.

Now tell me again who those old farts are that you keep comparing to our guys.......? Thank God those geezers don't play for us. Gotta love kids with a future instead of bruised tomatoes with a "sell by" date.....

Forget LeBron James and Anthony Davis: Remember Friday for Dante Cunningham

But the story of the night might turn out to be the defense, specifically that of Pelicans forward Dante Cunningham.

Based on our video tracking, James was 3-of-17 for seven points when guarded by Cunningham on Friday, including 0-of-2 in overtime. James was 10-of-12 for 30 points when guarded by any other Pelican. Cunningham forced James outside. James’ average shot distance was 12 feet with Cunningham and six feet against other defenders.

James did his best to make Cunningham switch off of him. When that happened and a different defender rotated to James, James was 4-of-5 for eight points.

In James' incredible fourth quarter and during the overtime period, James was only 1-of-8 against Cunningham, with all eight shots contested.

RoLo looks like late-career Joel Przybilla - minus the shotblocking.
