...sorry, it cannot be mine, because the board terms of agreement strictly prohibits me from accepting gifts from any of the Cashmans.

lol- just an observation, and I realize ALL are entitled to opinions INCLUDING ME- here goes:
Somewhere, there has to be some other board, around some water cooler or at some bar where a couple/few Yankee fans shooting the breeze during the trade deadline or winter meetings who spend most of those moments discussing trades, theoretical proposals and which (Yankee) players "should" be tradeable or "untouchable" ect...instead of a constant stream of the same old whiny song performed by the same one trick pony's.

I've never seen a group of Yankee fans (all 5,6,7 lol), and one part-time/"half" Yankee fan congregated in the same place with this overriding mindset of lament, negativism and cynicism.
Where the hell did this come from?

NO- I do NOT think everything in Yankee land is rosey....NO!
Of course Cashman and The Steins can be criticized
,..but the mantra on this board could be considered laughable, or downright tainted and prejudiced by visitors or (heaven forbid!) a few new Yankee fans who want to participate.
    IMHO

And I feel comfortable talking about this because as you're well aware I do take my share of criticism...."rightfully" or "wrongly".... just keep in mind not all of us are always "right" or always "wrong".

Yanks need SP pitching help and are top heavy with RHSP.
They could (should) just make a serious run at Wei-Yin Chen.
They're going to dropping payroll worth 63 mil after 2016 with Beltran, Tex and CC....and Arod 21 mil, CC (5 mil) after 2017. That's 89 mil total by the end of 2017. They could sign Chen for 4 years, maybe 5(?) and it won't be more than 15-16 mil per year.
This would bring him to age 34....he's tough vs LH hitters and doesn't rely on a blazing fastball. He's effective vs LHs because he knows how to setup hitters and has a good LH curveball.....he should retain his decent fastball and GOOD curveball till age 34.

Yanks so far have stood fast and not traded any of their top prospects or better younger players. I like Heathcott but could have value for the right trade...who knows, we don't speak with other GMs, lol.
I would prefer to keep Heathcott and find out about him.
Mason Williams is a very good o.f.....if he hits a bit, he could be in the mix for either the Yanks or as a very decent trade chip...still young.

Yanks can aggressively pursue Chen, use one of their prime prospects, and/or a couple of their younger players Heathcott, Williams for the RIGHT MOVE) along with a couple of their young relievers we saw last year.

Lindgren should be back - I doubt very much if the Yanks will trade him.
He's a strikeout machine! And very young.

Yanks have (imo) good options and valuable young assets...lets see what Cashman does.....he has at least ONE big move he can make using his prospects if he chooses to, and it better be for GOOD YOUNG major league talent.....and ONE possible free agent he can acquire→ Chen.

Continuing with the Yankee payroll and a possible signing of Chen.
I think it's safe to say the Yanks will NOT have another 10 million allocated for Drew and Crapuano towards this year's payroll.

I dont think the Cubs are going to trade pitching....gotta feeling Castro is being dangled and I hope the Yanks arent thinking about trading Warren unless its for more pitching.

There is no such thing as a "part time/half Yankee Fan"......

Your either out or in, no in between......

Ben Zobrist signed with the Cubs, 4 years 56 million as per Ken Rosenthal.

Which means Starlin Castro will be moved now for sure.

The class clown is referring to me since I follow both the Yankees & Giants.

the "class clown" is overlooking the fact, Joe DiMaggio was not a Yankee at heart, and definitely a part time fan of the Yanx, since Joe was the Bench Coach in Oakland, so he too is a Traitor, a part time or 1/2 a Yankee Fan, the Yankee Clipper Himself...?? Blasphemy.....!!!
    As.jpg

Yeah, DiMaggio wasn't a Yankee at heart, bullfkngshit....!

He didn't get the original memo....! We went into depth prior to our class clown arrival. Because I love to watch MLB period, means I'm a (or you) are, a 1/2 part time fan. Geezus moonwalking Christ, not again......not the same pile of dung, we cleared up, quit awhile ago....

Last year I got every single game with MLB Xtra innings. I watched all but 1 of Jose Fernandez's games pitched, same with Kershaw, Greinke, Scherzer, Madbum, King Felix; and really enjoyed seeing Houston's Correa hit and field, as well as Houston's - Velasquez pitch every single ball, (both Correa and Velasquez were Local A+ Minor Leaguer's here in town in 014),

Because I wanted to see every single bat by Giancarlo Stanton or Harper, Trout, the phenom prospects, Seager and Pederson, the best defensive rookie OF'r IMO.....

and back to Little League, which I attend weekly during each season, I too am but 1/3 or a marginal part time fan too Rick, just like you, shit I didn't know we had this much in common......

Historically how can a Yankee Fan, from the Golden Era's not be a Left Coast Giants or Bums fan, yet these are NL Teams, and everyone here who's been around long enough, know Our Loyalties always lay with Our Yanx, and remain that way-to our graves,...?????

I too have enjoyed the Giants with the other M&M boys, just like yerself- as well as Koufax, Marichal, Gibson, and those great 60s Cardinal Teams, same with Oakland, and KC when the A's still resided there......

I've already answered this when dufuss asked me but I'll repeat it, I'm a Yankee fan FIRST so of course it would be the Yankees BUT I'd be happy for either team that won.

For the record I'll explain this again, my older brother got me hooked on the Yankees because he was a huge Yankee fan. Even took me to see the game where Maris blasted #61. And the priest that raised me was a huge Giant fan & went to school with Willie McCovey & got me an autograph picture of him when he went to San Francisco in the early 60s. so because of him the Giants were my NL team. Once again, I hope this clears the mystery up.

...Matts, I was looking at your A's pictures/schedule...there were 8 scheduled Double Headers back then...something I wish they'd revisit.

I've been saying that forever Ron, I say one a month. It would allow one of two things to happen, It would either give the players more days off or it would shorten the season.

^^^Rick, they could actually do both...if there's 8 DHers they could give the players 4 more days off and also still shorten the season by 4 days.
...if you look Matt's schedule graphic back in '69 the regular season didn't even start till April 8th and end on September 28th.
