You know you can fix your own posts, right? No need to ask a mod to do it.

Dang, another one bites the dust. It wouldn't hurt so bad if we were getting our asses handed to us every game. At least then we could accept that we suck. But, that's not the case. Almost every game is close, we aren't getting blown out. We are there till the end. And we always loose by a possession or two. We are barely not good enough to win, to close games....if we were just a smidge better we would have a winning record right now. Damn!!!

In close games, you need to be able to get stops, and you need 5 guys who can consistently make free throws.

Love the effort from this team on a second night of a b2b, while facing a great team that was desperate for a win.

Talent discrepancy is just massive some nights

Stotts needs to have a practice where everyone just shoots free throws...if I were coach I'd have them stay and extra twenty minutes at the end of practice for each free throw they missed the game before and have them practice free throws.

In steals per game, Portland ranks 28th (6.5) and Cleveland ranks 30th (6.1). Maybe we'll switch places now, because they outstole us tonight 10 to 3.

Stotts' system produces no steals. Even the worst team creams us in steals.

It was so clear what happened tonight. Cleveland didn't guard our guards at all in the first half. They let us do whatever we wanted to. Like they hadn't scouted us. Then in the second half, they made adjustments and it was over.

Lost by 3. Didn't get key stops in Q4. If you're up, you need to make FTs.

From a standpoint of what we needed, this pretty much was perfect. Took the defending runner-up to the end on their own floor on the second night of a back-to-back off a really tough loss.

Honestly, this team is scaring me with its learning curve. It might be getting a little too good too quickly and play us right out of our first round pick which could leave us in a similar position next year. Like Tunchi said, this team isn't bad, but it needs a little bit more to really go somewhere.

On a sidenote, I know some of us were talking about officiating. I thought the two calls involving LeBron in the first half were garbage, the travel and even more the charge being called a block on Plumlee. Even if I don't like it, the realist in me understands stars are going to get close calls, but those weren't that close. And Lillard gets hit with the body at the other end to force a miss and there's no call. Seriously, some of these calls are horrible.

you guys are surprised that a really young team, with 1 proven star and maybe 1 other guy who would be a starter on some teams, loses games late?

    Really?

The team has potential. That doesn't necessarily translate into wins.

Story of our season. We look great until the other team takes us seriously, at which point we struggle to score and we can't stop them from scoring.

That's the best possible position for us to be in right now - be competitive with ANY team and lose. It's the best of both worlds.

Who are you addressing? I don't get these "you guys" posts. I don't really see anyone acting surprised we lost late, certainly not any sort of majority here. Posts like yours just reek of self righteousness, like you know better than everyone else.

Not just the thread? The whole board? The military could bottle that post as a weapon.
