According to FOX Sports the Tigers and the Yankees have agreed to a deal that would move Justin Wilson to Detriot as per Jon Morosi.

    Details to follow.....

...yeah, just saw this...after jettisoning Warren and Wilson I sure hope that Cashman will now make a BIG deal.

    ...he'd better.

I hate to see Wilson go, I like this kid, still think he's
I swear I'm beginning to think Trashman is incapable of making a BIG deal, I'd love to be proven wrong too.......!

Oh wait, that's "mindless" of me to say as much....:dunno::biglaugh:

He is up to something.... not sure what it is yet. I don't think he would give away 2 big pieces of our Bullpen and not replace them, but then again I could be wrong.

    Thank you Lil.
That thought crossed my mind right after he traded Warren- it's better for you to say it instead of me.
Of course those who are convinced he's incompetent (or insane) probably think he intends on weakening the pitching staff as much as he can before Christmas.

First impression- I don't like the deal.
Cashman gave up a good power LH bullpen arm for two young minor league SP - both righthanded.
    Luis Cessa 23yrs old, 25 GS 2015 AA-AAA, 4.52 ERA, 1.42 WHIP
Chad Green 24 yrs old, 27 GS 2015 AA, 3.93 ERA, 1.43 WHIP
Both avg over 7-8 K per 9 IP

I would call it an outright BAD trade if these two weren't 23-24 yrs old.
Wilson did an excellent job for the Yanks,
    3.03 ERA, 1.19 WHIP , 9.7 K per 9 IP,
And I'm also annoyed that neither one is LH!

To make matters worse, Cashman cited the fact that Wilson is approaching his earning years as a factor in trading him AND also talked about adding depth (wtf?) at the AAA level?
AAA "depth"? Okay, I'll translate that to mean aka possible trade chips.

I can see where he's "okay" with and is willing to fill Wilson's spot with Lindgren and Pazos, especially Lindgren- but I think if he was willing to trade Wilson he should've/could've packaged him in a deal or at least received just a little bit "more" in return which included a young AA-AAA LHSP with strikeout potential.

He did mention he wasn't finished yet.
As of now, I DON'T like the trade!

I call them like I see them without any preconceived notions or bias clouding my judgement. It's always better that way.

By the way, I remember the criticism he took (not from me on that one) after trading Cervelli for Wilson ~ now he's getting hammered because he didn't get something "good" in return for trading Wilson.
Maybe next year at this time we'll be complaining about what the Yanks got in return for trading Luis Cessa or Chad Green!
    'round and 'round we go.

I'll say it again, "Sometimes it is better to stay quiet & have others just think you're an idiot then to open up your mouth & remove all doubt".

...apparently, typing a bunch of words without content or context is acceptable. And the Cervelli reference is also laughable when you consider that Cervelli, who was finally given a full time starting role at catcher put up a .295 .370 .401 .771 slash line in 2015.
...so when you get right down to it, the Yanx back up catchers are now unproven Romine/Sanchez...and yet Cashman essentially traded Cervelli for Luis Cessa and Chad Green.

    ...sweet.

Like we've discussed last year the big contracts need to come off the books so to me this team is more about 2017 than 2016. I'm not sure what the free agent market sets up to look like at that point but that's what will be more interesting to look at.
