He's certainly helping us with our main objective this year: tanking!

Listen Von is properly the fifth option on offense and primary goal is play defense and rebound lately been doing decent job. Love had only 10 points when left in the 3rd and after he left Love had his way. So to me Von is doing decent job.

I like that he's super quick for a power forward. He just hasn't really developed any post moves. It always seems like he can get past his man, but he doesn't know what to do with it after he gets to the hoop.

We may give you crap on a regular basis HCP but I appreciate an insider view (even if I don't always agree with it).

    Thanks.

It was a terrible trade. People forget the reason Batum played poorly was an injured hand. It was outright stupidity to trade him for a stiff like Vonleh. Although I suppose Vonleh makes up for his lack of scoring with his lack of rebounding.

I love how people make declarations about a player before they even play 82 games in their career.

Patience is for players who might develop into something special. No evidence Vonleh will be special.

No evidence? So you completely disregard his play in the summer league?

Honestly? The only value I see in summer league is physical conditioning. The no defense/no teamwork level of play tells us almost nothing about a player's relative skills in an actual 5-on-5 game.

I'd like to see Cliff Alexander get some minutes as well, he is healthy as far as we know?

    Exactly, just like Qyntel Woods.

But I agree on Vonleh, as I've said as much already. I've seen the talent in spots, just like I saw the talent in CJ his rookie year and early 2nd year, even as the majority were trashing him. How good he'll turn out is up to him, but the potential is definitely there and it's way too early to call him a mistake.

Damn right, no one is safe!

Perspective, though: I was as big in Dame's camp as anyone prior to the draft. My absolutely-no-uncertainty top three was:

    1) The Brow
    2) Lillard
    3) Oden Jr, aka Drummond

Nothing has happened since then to make me change my opinion.

In no way am I doubting Lillard's merits as a player or leader. I just think we've gotten the best out of him, relative to the makeup of the rest of the team, and there's nothing wrong with assessing every element going forward. Sell high.
