The Laker team with Elgin Baylor, Jerry West, and Wilt. I don't know how the hell that team didn't win. Just flat out scary.
Repeat topics eh?It's not the best team to never win a title but I don't think anybody will mention them so I will. How about the great Spurs team of the early 80's? This was one of the best offensive teams in NBA history. The team was stacked.George GervinMike MitchellJames Silas Artis GilmoreJohnny MooreThat tough defensive front line that consisted of the "bruise brothers" They led the NBA in blocked shots and rebounds.George JohnsonDave CorzineKevin RestaniMark OlberdingReggie JohnsonMoore was second in the league in assists, Gervin was 4th in points per game, Gilmore was first in FG%, The Spurs as a team were second in the league in assists, rebounding, blocked shots and scoring. Despite dominating the NBA in the stats category, they met the Lakers in the semifinals and lost in a close 6 game series. After that series it all went downhill from there. Gervin was traded to the Bulls and Johnny Moore got a disease which sadly ended his career. They had one of the greatest offensive teams in NBA history and had a great team overall but just couldn't get to the next level and win an NBA championship.

The Bulls robbed them of a few championships. Not that they didn't deserve them...but that Utah Jazz team was pretty good with Stockton and Malone. I remember when the Lakers faced them in the playoffs back then.
Adding to the Current Mavs teams...how about the Mavs teams of the late 80's with Roy Tarpley, Rolondo Blackman and the like...they took the Showtime Lakers to a game 7 in the Western Finals.
the pre-moses sixers they averaged like 60 wins for three years, had the doctor, toney, mo cheeks, bobby jones, darryl dawkins, lionel hollins, steve mix, doug collins, henry bibby..... those teams were ill.

IE dribbling out the clock and celebrating a tied game.
My dad said that the Suns team that lost in the first round with Barkley may have been the best team here. We took a 2-0 lead and then lost 3 straight to the Houston Rockets who won the championship that year. Apparently Barkley was out partying after we took a lead and didn't take the next games seriously.
The 1992/93 Phoenix Suns:-Kevin Johnson-Dan Majerle-Mark West-Richard Dumas-Charles BarkelyBench:Tom Chambers, Danny Ainge, Oliver Miller, Frank Johnson
