Conor looks like the cat that swallowed the mouse right now.

    Good night of fights.

Holloway continues to develop. I don't think he is championship material but he can be the Cowboy of that division. Always a good watch. Stephens looked a bit old.

Maia's domination of Nelson was a bit shocking. The technical exchanges were good for a bit but Nelson wasn't throwing any punches and Maia was, which seemed to tilt things pretty heavily in favour of the Brazilian. Maia wants a title fight next and he's not getting it.

Jacare/Romero was interesting. Jacare came on strong towards the end of the fight but having lost the first round by a wide margin he was always going to have to win the second and third. The second was close but I did score it for Jacare. Romero faded in the fight as you would expect. A bit unhappy with the decision. Fans in attendance were booing. Romero/Rockhold is a banger of a fight, though.

Rockhold, wow, I dunno. To me he looked to be fading before The Chris attempted a horrendous wheel kick and wound up mounted with his face getting smashed. Just a retarded decision by Weidman at that point in the fight. Surprised it made it to a fourth round with Weidman taking punches and elbows from mount for what seemed a solid 40-seconds. Rockhold's workrate dipped as the fight progressed. Credit to him though once he saw his opening he capitalized nicely. Thought Weidman might go back to the grappling well after the success he had in the first round but it was strange, both fighters from the second round on looked more tired than normal. Weidman/Souza next would make sense if Weidman is looking to get back into it fast.

Main event--what can you say? Not what anyone was expecting or looking forward to. Reminded me of Arlovski/Buentello. Both fighters land left hands but Aldo winds up flat in thirteen seconds. Anti-climactic to say the least.

Fuck yes. McGregor is the man bitches.

It will be interesting to see if people start respecting him now.

I'd expect an immediate rematch as that probably made the ufc a fuckload of money

Didn't get to see the card. :curse:

Sounds like great wins for McGregor and Rockhold, and some controversy for Romero?

McGregor, his coach, and DFW have all stated post fight that he is more than likely done at 145. The cut is too harsh on him. DFW says he will get an immediate title shot at the winner of RDA/Cowboy

^ McGregor won't relinquish the FW belt, though. He wants to hold both. The UFC hasn't allowed this before. Sounds like a stand-off brewing.

F-M-L... I so wanted McGregor to eat some crow...

cannot get over how easily Rockhold handled Weidman

LOL @ Gunnar saying Maia was still good but getting old and on his way out... guess not.

Solid night of fights, not great but enjoyable.

I was thinking about whether Weidman's wheel kick attempt was the worst mistake ever in a UFC title fight but, duh, Anderson Silva trying to clown him was worse. Any other examples?

    My thoughts..

Yoel Romero is for real. I thought Jacare was going to eat him up. What a let down by Jacare...

Weidman/Rockhold. It was weird seeing Weidman being the smaller fighter for once. I feel like he was turning the tide of that fight and controlling it before he threw that stupid fucking kick. I can't believe he threw that. Good for Rockhold, though. I don't want to see an immediate rematch. That was a convincing victory for Rockhold. The Chris needs 1-2 victories to get another shot. Rockhold was gassing out. I think Weidman fights smarter in their rematch.

Conor vs. Aldo was what I thought would happen. I didn't think it would happen that fast, though. Aldo is a great fighter and a great champion, but father time is undefeated. Conor has been in Aldo's head for months. Aldo fought stupid and he paid the price for it. He went in there and threw a haymaker of a right hand. Conor knew that punch was coming before the fight even started. Nice slip and counter by Conor. I'm glad people will shut up about him being a fluke now.

You'd think they would shut up about conor, but sherdog and facebook is littered with dudes saying conor was lucky and aldo is the better fighter.

Maybe but conor is 1-0 against aldo right now so they can suck it

Conor's timing, precision, and power is too much for anybody currently at 145 and 155 IMO. I love Frankie Edgar, one of my favorite fighters...I don't want to see that fight. Conor will put Frankie to sleep.

Conor reportedly is in line to make upwards of $16 million for the fight....

    Or roughly $1.3 million/second...

    What say you, Floyd ;)

Does anyone else feel kinda cheated by the main event? I mean Connor did exactly what he had to do with that opening and it wasn't a lucky shot in the sense that there was no skill, but it is a rare occurrence. I wanted to see the two of them battle for a bit to see who was more skilled in terms of striking. If that makes sense.

I mean if there's a rematch, there's about 0% chance the fight ends that quickly again and that's why I want a rematch. Is Connor that much better or did Aldo make an early mistake the McGregor capitalized on.
