A slow-it-up center like Jahlil is not going to fit the SSOL system.

Without the right pieces MDA is going to fail miserably like he did in LA and NY. Those teams best players? Carmelo and Kobe, heavily ISO'd players.

CJ would be awesome in that system.

I'd rather be mediocre and stay mediocre than be awful and stay awful

I wouldn't trade Meyers for Olynyk even though I like Olynyk very much.
I think Meyers still has ways to go but if he improves his understanding on defense could be a great player. He already is, or has the potential to be, one of the best offensive bigs.
Olynyk has amazing basketball IQ, especially on defense. He's not very athletic or strong for a big but his awareness on the defensive end simply makes the entire Celtic defense work better when he's on the court.
Ideally, Meyers could develop Olynyk's defensive instincts

I agree with this. Add in that Olynyk is a very skilled big but he is slow and lacks laterall movement, that puts a damper on his ceiling if you want to play a fast paced offense that Stotts seems to want to run.
Leonard has all the physical tools to be a very good stretch big and should be able to use his athletism on D much better. Iv liked the recent development of Leonard minus the last handful of games and still have faith he has a big leep left in him to make this year. Id like to see where Leonard is at the end of the year, iv got faith he can make a leep but if he cant let someone overpay him for his potential this summer.

Yeah, but I think CJ has more value than Embiid right now. The guy hasn't played since college, which was nearly 2 years ago. His numbers in college weren't THAT great either. CJ's value is at an all-time high right now. I would want Okafor, not Embiid.

That's where we request the right to swap draft picks. Embiid has more potential than Okafor, even though he's a higher risk. But if we can get the right to swap picks, then we take it (even if we have to give up filler and extra firsts in the process).

Embiid was a monster prospect in college. But foot injuries scare me.

Buuuut, given how badly we need high level prospects, I'd give up Meyers for Embiid in an instant. Medium risk with losing Leonard, but massive reward possible if Embiid gets healthy.

I wish it was as easy as just giving up Meyers.

Who was the last guy to be snake bitten by injuries early in his career and then turn it around completely and get healthy?

Curry? Griffin? CJ (knock on wood)?

So many guys who did NOT turn it around though. GO, Rose, KD and Kyrie getting there unfortunately.

For Embiid? You think so? He hasn't even played a game yet in two seasons and will still be considered a rookie next year.

Unfortunately, Philly does not even have any albatross contracts we can offer to take on as incentive to give him up.

But Olynyk has the credentials of taking Kevin Love out of the playoffs....that was a smooth move

I do not think CJ is going anywhere.

Would like to see Henderson moved and Harkless to get more minutes.

Ain't nobody need Hendo....at least for now. Realistically you can hope for a 2nd, or he'll be filler in a larger deal.

Pretty sure we could have traded him at any point since acquiring him (other than to CHA). But now we can trade Aminu/Davis.

But maybe there's another team's FA signing for whom Hendo could be dealt tomorrow...?

Haha! I'm sure Nic could have gotten us that hypothetical player PLUS something else. Nic's value far exceeds Henderson's value (or Vonleh's value, or their combined value).
