I would have been okay either way but this is probably for the best. Now Shoeless Joe? I think he should have his ban lifted.

...Rose has shown no sign of changing...hell, the dumbass even admitted to Manfred that he still bets on sports, which I'm sure did not help his case.

How about putting him in for what he did on the field? He was a HOFer before becoming a manager. I don't care that he's still a screw up. Regardless, fine either way but I think it's criminal for a guy like Schilling to get a real shot while guys like Rose and the new crop of PED guys (Bonds, Clemens) not getting a look.

...Bernie Madoff was probably legit at one time too.

...Rose committed the one cardinal sin of Baseball...and it should not matter what he did before that. The HOF is based on the whole of a career, not just what some consider the best part.

...Rose had not only continue to lie about what and when he did, he doesn't even think he did anything wrong...fuck him. He gets into the HOF only posthumously...that should be his ultimate penalty.

With all due respect Bern you can't reward people for screwing up. First it was all those years of denying what he did & then when he did come clean it was only in part. Yes the guy had an amazing career as a player & part of me agrees that he should be recognized for that & he probably would have been if he just came COMPLETELY clean when he had the chance.

As far as Schilling IMO I don't think his numbers warrant the HOF.

...if the people in Cincy want to immortalize Rose regardless of his transgressions, fine...but the HOF should be a hallowed place and a different matter.
