Weezer in no way was ever considered emo. They've always been Alternative with punk influenences.</div>You obviously have no knowledge of the band or history of rock music because Weezer were infact considered emo. If you knew anything about the term 'emo', you would understand that it's not just about the image of wrist-slitting depressed teenagers. There are lots of different types of emo and Weezer were considered 'indie emo'. If you've heard any of their early stuff like the Pinkerton album, you would understand why they were considered emo. In fact, that album was one of the emo albums that were definitive in the 90's.And LAZY, I'm not emo and I'm not defending emo. I don't have my hair covering my eyes, I don't wear mascara and I don't cry about my life. I'm just trying to make a point and tell you that there's more to emo than bands like My Chemical Romance and that many have the wrong impression of emo bands.

In fact, I'll bold that part of your sentence. WERE. Ever thought that maybe Weezer's sound hasnt changed, but the Emo genre's sound has changed? They might be considered emo on a very loose description by some, but they are very power pop with a punk influence. I find it funny that you say Pinkerton was a definitve emo album of the 90's when it draws more comparisions to The Who's rock opera Tommy. Also, if you listen to Weezer's last album Make Believe, you would know that that's the album that sounds more "emo" than any other Weezer album. But of course I clearly know nothin about music. Also, if Weezer was so emo, then why are they a wide success in both Europe and Asia where Emo bands get frowned upon? Europeans hate emo music but accept Weezer. But of course I know nothing about music.

All I'm I was saying was that Weezer was considered emo in the early stages of their career. I never said Weezer was 'so emo' and actually, there are alot of emo's in Europe. I've actually been to England myself and there are quite a number of emo's there but that's not the point. All I was saying was that alot of bands were previously considered emo yet the general public only seem to look at the genre through the eyes of modern day bands like Fall out boy. In the previous post, you clearly said that 'Weezer in no way was ever considered emo', all I'm trying to tell you is that they were as were many bands of their time that have grown to become so popular.
I love hardcore classic rock, I like Hinder and a lot of good rock groups that are big right now...but I don't mind some All-American Rejects, The Killlers and some Fall Out Boy...I'm not about bands, I just like good songs...I'm not super loyal to any one band besides AC/DC and a few older classic rock bands... Do I think emo singers look like dipshits? Sure, but some of the music isn't that bad.
