CJ starts 5/6, scores 12 of our first 15. Why take him out in the first quarter for Crabbe, who has been cold? Thunder go up and CJ doesn't find his shot again until late.

Irritating game. I want to know why people talk about trading McCollum. Or Henderson over Crabbe.
Trade assets are Crabbe, Leonard, Vonleh, and maybe Plumlee, since we can start Davis inside— any or all of these for a front-court scorer.

I've never been a fan of rigid substitution patterns. Go with the flow.

It mirrors CJ's first quarter stint.

Stotts iced the game thread along with CJ.

It is typical to sub for the starters after ~8 minutes.

CJ came out right around the 6 minute mark when he was red hot, sat out until Dame's scheduled rest, then came back cold. He'd have easily gone for 20 in the quarter if Stotts left him in. You don't mess with a "zone" like that when the guy hasn't shown any signs of fatigue yet. Worry about that later in the game.
