At the right price... I've had a change of heart on him. He's been playing great this season for Charlotte, and he's finally appeared to have gotten his head out of his ass. I think he'll be an all star this year, which is crazy to even think about. I like him as a SG, and he'd fit perfectly with the team we have now. I think he's a great fit next to Dame/CJ as a secondary ball handler, and his ability to play the 2, 3, or small ball 4 is a plus. You could bring CJ off the bench for 30+ minutes a game without making him have to play PG by splitting Nics minutes up between SG and SF. However, I'm not sure how much I'd want to pay for him. Honestly, I'd give up $16 or $17 million (I know many might not agree). I think if you're able to add him and somebody like Whiteside, then were back where we were 2 years ago, but we'd be great defensively. Tell me what you think
He is going to get MAX this summer believe it or not. I would take him at the right price but that is not it.
as another poster said he will get maxed and I think that will likely be close to 20 mil per - no thx
The thing is.. Are we going you be able to get anyone better with our cap space for the next few years? If we can't then we might as well use it somehow
we don't know, we haven't had much success with FA's signing here, my gut feel is Nic would prefer not going back to POR and will have a ton of offers
1...He wouldn't come back here. Hed go home to France first... 2...Chances are hed revert to the same lackluster player he was during his latter years here in Portland...seems like he only plays well in contract years then does little and makes excuses once he get his money 3...The Blazers need to keep heading forward towards a fruitful future...not backwards into the oblivion of mediocre - hood
1.) Why do people think he hated it here? Why wouldn't he come back? 2.) His best year for Portland wasnt in a contract year... I think people need to give him more credit than "He's doing well because of his contract" 3.) What do you mean? Apparently the Blazers aren't supposed to acquire talent, even though they're not bad enough to get a draft pick that'll make a real difference and they don't have the potential to develop this current team into a contender. So idk how they would go "backwards", and I don't think they're currently heading towards a "fruitful" future
Wouldn't be surprised if he resigned with CHA. Seems like he found a new home there. Much closer to France anyway.
we gave him 7 good paydays he gave us about 30 decent, 40 annoying and 12 great games a season. even tho he has apparently somehow developed into the player we hoped him to be all along as soon as he left, i dont think we should take that as a guarantee he'd keep it up or want to revisit things here at all. we're done. on both sides.
The guy wanders through 7 listless seasons in Portland, leaves, and is competing for an all-star berth. When someone gives you a double bird with that much vigor and conviction, you need to take it seriously.
