I would deal Hayes, Fast, Halverson and a 2nd for Ladd and Clitsome from the PEG.

I am not going to make up fantasy trades, because we have no clue. All I will say is tonight has to be rock bottom. No more excuses can be made. We were embarrassed at home by the Caps. 7 goals against. Outscored 6-0 the final two periods. Not sure what else you'd need to see at this point. Something has to give.

No one here should be surprised by tonight's outcome.
This downward trend began Nov 25 Wed with the Canadiens
thrashing Rangers at home 5-1.....since then, team has been
3- 9 - 2. Add injuries with inadequate replacements, team
    has faltered badly.

What will turn this team around? I have no answers because
    team's choices are very limited.

Amazing how fast this trend has occurred.

Chuck, we've made numerous trades with columbus in our division so don't think that will be a problem. And its one of the few places you know the coach(torts) is enamored by both girardi and staal.
P.S. - Kreider IS NOT being traded
P.S. P.S. - Glad to see you've finally noticed the D has sucked and it has sucked all season.

Different people running the show in CBJ when we made deals with them. Not sure if they would do it with JD and Torts running the show. Maybe...but maybe not.

Things changed against TB on the 19th. That's when this awful trend started. Personally I think the team is stale and lacks the focus you normally see from the Rangers. I think it is as much that as it is talent level on the ice or players slipping. No structure and players all over the ice. That's what I see most of all.

Need a trade to shake things up and need McDonough to relinquish the "C" to Zuccarello. I'd love the trade to involve Staal but the NTC makes trading him unlikely and his downward trend shows no signs of reversing. The defense has been a problem all year, while the NTC makes moving a Staal or Girardi difficult, AV can still send a message with the healthy scratch.

They are not taking the "C" away from McDonagh...nor should they. That would be a huge slap in the face and honestly do more harm than good IMO.

Yeah, Not taking McD's C away. Don't think he is great captain by any means as he doesnt show much leadership qualities to me on the ice but he campaigned for it so much before he got it he would probably have a nervous breakdown if they did.

Stripping "C's" from players is not good for the team or the morale unless there is a CLEAR reason for it. To me there isn't, no shot I do that.

Nice distortion of a post Chuck, I say relinquish and you turn that into McD being "stripped of the C" - look up the definition of relinquish and you'll learn that it's the opposite of being stripped. I think it would take a huge weight off the his shoulders and I think Zucc is more of a leader.

I'll bet the mighty hobbit would be the officials worst nightmare having him contesting calls and cursing at them in norwegian. Ha ha ha

Panzer...McDonagh is not going to walk into AV's office and say hey coach take the "C" off my chest...not happening.

I disagree with you that he should relinquish or be stripped or whatever of the "C".

It's okay man...we can disagree and still be cool. We all don't have to agree on everything. You don't need to get all worked up fella...LOL.

In my opinion we have way bigger issues to worry about than McD being our Captain.

We do agree 100% they should try and get Staal to waive his NTC and move him. That would also enable us to resign Yandle.

    All good.

Anyone on the team can decide to be a leader. They don't need a C on their chest to do so.

Not worked up at all Chuck, again that's just you making up stuff. Anyone can't go over to the refs to discuss calls or the lack thereof Mess, I don't see McD ever doing so. The Rangers haven't gotten many calls this year, AV doesn't really bark at the refs so that leaves McDonough.

Yes...look up the definition of relinquish and nice distortion of a post is all good panzer...LOL.

At any rate, is what it is. I think McDonagh is fine as a Captain, certainly still growing into the role fully, and is not an issue for us winning or losing. We'll agree to disagree.
