Re: If last year's playoffs were to be redone this year? What would happen if last years playoffs were to happen with the same teams just this year? Personally I think the result would have been completely different.East1. Detroit2. Miami3. New Jersey4. Cleveland5. Washington6. Indiana7. Chicago8. MilwaukeeWest1. San Antonio2. Pheonix3. Denver4. Dallas5. Memphis6. Los Angeles Clippers7. Los Angeles Lakers8. Sacramento___First RoundEastdoit vs. Milwaukee: Although Milwaukee this year has improved and Detroit is not the dynasty which they were last year, Detroit is still the better team over Milwaukee, and I think that Detroit would take this in 6 games. Detroit WinsMiami vs. Chicago: Chances are the former champs are going to have a turn around and make the playoffs with some sort of seeding however there is no doubt in anyones mind that Miami is a much weaker team this year not to mention that this comparison is right now befor they have a turn around if they have one, while Chicago is having a great season and have established themselves as a contendor in the East this year. Chicago WinsNew Jersey vs. Indiana: New Jersey is a much weaker team this year and now they're facing the rest of the season without Nenand Krstic while the Pacers are doing betteer this year than they were last year, Pacers would take this one in 5, due to this little passionate Nets squad. Indiana WinsWashington vs. Cleveland: This year Cleveland had a good start however really slowed down in the month of december, while Washington started 4-9 then flipped their season around with the help of the Hibachi and is now leading the Southeast division. Washington would take this one in 7. Washington WinsWestSan Antonio vs. Sacramento: The Spurs are still one of the most dangerous teams in the West, with little holding them back, while the Kings have slowed down this year due to problems with Ronny Ron Ron. San Antonio would sweep this series. San Antonio WinsPheonix vs. Los Angeles: Kobe is better this year than last year, last year he was carrying the team in his backpack, this year he's leading the team and of course the numbers will drop but he means so much more to the Lakers now and they are a better squad. However the Suns remain one of the four best in the west (Jazz aren't even in these playoffs haha). Suns now have Amare Stouadmire back and run an offense faster than anything. Pheonix would win this in 7. Pheonix WinsDenvers vs. Los Angeles: Denver now has Iverson, Melo is playing better than ever, and they don't have to deal with Kenyon Martin's attitude. Camby has really come out as of late while the Clippers have collapsed after a great start, Clippers have only won 3 road games. Denver would win this in 5 with Iverson really playing his heart out. Denver WinsDallas vs. Memphis: Dallas is better, Memphis is much worse, nuff' said. Dallas sweep. Dallas winsSecond RoundEastDetroit vs. Washington: Although Washington has improved Detroit is still the better team and has proved that by winning both of their meetings this year. Detroit would win in 6 games. Detroit WinsIndiana vs. Chicago: Chicago is a powerhouse this year, very good team while Indiana has improved however not to the level of Chicago's very deep roster. Chicago would win this in 5. Chicago WinsWestDallas vs. San Antonio: Last year it was a throw up on who would win however Dallas took the victory. This year Dallas is a better team, with a better bench, and improved stars who are ready to win. San Antonio has not slowed down however Dallas is just a slight bit better this year however this would still be a very close run. Dallas in 7. Dallas winsPheonix vs. Denver: Denver has Iverson, but can they really compete with the amazing offensive squad the Suns have put together, especially with Amare back this year. Suns win in 6. Suns winsConference FinalsEastDetroit vs. Chicago: Now that is an exciting matchup, Ben Wallace agains this old team, and I think Chicago would win this, but I do not think Detroit is a worse team. Chicago is deep and has a great starting line, while Detroit's bench is lacking and thats what I think this playoff series would come down to. Chicago in 7. Chicago Wins (For the record I don't think Chicago is the best team in the east, they have an easy playoff path here though, with the exception of the Pistons.)WestPheonix vs. Dallas: Both teams have improved and both teams are very close in skill, however Dallas is still the stronger team, although Pheonix is faster Dallas can slow them down. Dallas in 7. Dallas WinsNBA FinalsDallas vs. Chicago: We all know the west is better than the east and that all of the best teams are in the West so really the conference finals is the true championship game out in the west. Dallas would not want to lose two finals in a row and I'm sure they wouldn't Dirk would come out to perform and Dallas would win in 6. Dallas are the Champs
Re: If last year's playoffs were to be redone this year? We arent MUCH worse...just horrible injuries, coaching problems and some distractions in the front office.

If you said that Nenad Kristic is out, then that means Carmelo should be out. I would go with the Clippers here if Melo and KMart are out. Brand is a machine, and you can't forget about Sam Cassell.Detroit vs. Chicago. I go with Detroit easily. Ben is dissapointing this year. Gordon is inconsistent, and they still don't have a low post scorer. Billups is out, but he would be back by the second round, same with Hunter. I think experience and home court advantage comes into play in this round, and the Pistons would have both.
Re: If last year's playoffs were to be redone this year? Nice and thought out Garenas...I of course, agree with your predictions, I don't think Chicago makes the Finals...but they'll be close.
Re: If last year's playoffs were to be redone this year? I thought that you would have put washington a bit further because they've been quite impressive thus far this season, escpecially Mr.Arenas...

(Assuming we win southeast). Anyways I'd like to support my thing about K-mart/Melo being out, Nenand is out the entire season so I counted him, I said Kmart was out but Melo/JR will be in. I don't think that the Bulls are a better team than the Pistons but there's always an upset in the playoffs (E.C. last year Heat beat Pistons then Mavs.) Memphisfan you went from a 50 win season to not looking like you'll get 30 wins. Although I like the Memphis team you have digressed alot due to management issues and Pau Gasol being out was a terrible mental state for the grizzlies coming into the season, plus Grizzlies got swept already so things wouldn't have gotten better. MarvinMartin, anything and I mean anything can happen in the east.

That's not that far.. especially in the East. The only scary team in the East is Detroit. They have four players that can murder you any given night. They don't have a lot of depth, yes - but their bench players tend to play much better during the playoffs. Guys like Lindsey Hunter, Antonio McDyess, Carlos Delfino and even Flip Murray can do some damage. Don't forget about Jason Maxiell, either. The Pistons don't have THAT bad of a bench as you would think. Chicago has so much depth but I just can't see them making it to the NBA Finals. First of all, they have a lot of young players. Ben Wallace is their leader. PJ Brown is one of the very few veterans on that team. I just don't think they have enough leadership and mental strength to get all the way to the Finals. However, considering how open the East is right now, any team can get to the ECF, really. Still, it usually isn't like that.
Re: If last year's playoffs were to be redone this year? First off, I don't really like going back and doing these "what if" things, but oh well. But I agree with Zards about Chicago. They have a lot of depth, and a very good team, but I just can't see the making the finals and beating a still extremely good Detroit team. Detroit is filled with great role players, and I'd be anxious to see if Gordon could carry them in a series vs. Detroit while most likely being defended by Tayshaun Prince.
Re: If last year's playoffs were to be redone this year? Eh.. I agree with your predictions, I suppose. However, I believe King James would help secure a win for the Cavs over the Wiz. But, whatever... It all depends, though.
Re: If last year's playoffs were to be redone this year? A wizards fan saying he could beat the Cavaliers 1st round? What a shocker!Face it, LeBron James was just to much. Pistons got lucky in game 6 because of Flip Murray. Who missed like 6 wide open 3's and then handed Billups the board at the end of the game like a fool.Shocker to me, look at the team he is on now... :thumbdn1:
Re: If last year's playoffs were to be redone this year? I think Dallas might win the whole thing....slight chance, but that's only because of all the Heat injuries.

They hit their stride in March and April. We'll see if they do the same this year.
Re: If last year's playoffs were to be redone this year? heat have peaked. They needed a perfect storm of luck when they peaked to win it all. This year they won't have a perfect storm and they are a year older. Even when shaq is back he'll be averaging like 14-8. Zo is a year older. So is payton. etc.
