Re: "The lost art of the mid-range jumper" Well I was just watching random sports highlights, and one of them happened to show highlights off sportscenter, and Steve Berthiaume used his catch line "the lost art of the mid-range jumper."My question is, who do you guys think are the best mid-range jump shooters in the league? Now obviously a lot of guys shoot it very well, but this is for guys who may not necessarily be great at shooting threes, or driving to the hoop, but can stroke it from 12-20 all day long. People will inevitably say LeBron, Wade, etc. but don't mention them, because we know they're great scorers. Even though he's a great scorer, you need to mention Rip Hamilton. He's one of the best at just running arond all game, and catching and shooting off of screens all day long. He lives off that and I don't know that there is a better player in the NBA at it than him.
Re: "The lost art of the mid-range jumper" Good topic. I think Rip Hamilton has the best mid-range game in the entire league. He is a guy that really is unstoppable from 15-19 feet. He runs the defense ragged to get open, and we all know Rip - he can run ALL day long. He can hit mid-range shots on the money in different ways: off the dribble, spot up, off a screen, etc. Rip is the best mid-range player in the NBA, IMO.

Re: "The lost art of the mid-range jumper" I guess I can live with putting Rip Hamilton #1 on my list. I am going to choose Carmelo Anthony with the 2nd best mid range jump shot in the league. He is one of the best in the league at creating his own shot and getting himself an open look. His step back jump shot is so smooth.
Re: "The lost art of the mid-range jumper" When Reggie Miller retired the 3 point shot and the mid-jumper both "went in a crisis". The only person who carries it on is Rip Hamilton.

That's his whole game and he is very good at it, I think the best in the league.

Re: "The lost art of the mid-range jumper" Everyone says Rip Hamilton and I of course agree but you guys are forgetting about a SG up in Seattle. Ray Allen spends massive amounts of time working on his mid range and it is very high quality.
Re: "The lost art of the mid-range jumper" Luol Deng...hes shooting 54% Most of his points are mid range jumpers
Re: "The lost art of the mid-range jumper" How has this topic gone on so long and Michael Redd hasn't come up?My money goes with Redd.
Re: "The lost art of the mid-range jumper" I think Josh Howard has a pretty good midrange jumper. He's developed a 3 pointer as of late, but he's still got that good jumper around the free throw line.
Re: "The lost art of the mid-range jumper" ^Ditto...and so is Jason Terry...He goes on cold streaks when shooting from 3 point land...but he's got a good consistent Mid Range Jumper...and of course Dirk has a sick mid range game.Others:Micheal ReddRay AllenRip Hamilton
Re: "The lost art of the mid-range jumper" Dwayne wade, 12-16 feet very solid. After that, it gets really shaky for him.The best guy who creates for himself off the ball for a midrange jumper is Rip. The best guy who creates his midrange jumper off the dribble is kobe. http://www.nba.com/hotzones/popup.htmlAlso, you need to take into account the degree of difficulty of the shot. That can't be shown in stats
Re: "The lost art of the mid-range jumper" Some older guys that don't get the attention for their mid-range shooting...Sam Cassell and Glenn Robinsin, they were 2 of the top during their reign. Obviously it's been gone over 1,000 times that Rip Hamilton is the best.
Re: "The lost art of the mid-range jumper" I just want to say isnt mid range in the NBA the same as the pointer in any level of basketball? I dont know why you could say players have no mid range when they have been shooting from there their whole lives.
