Agreed that the odds should be the same regardless of race. The real questions, and perhaps the bullshit component that Sinobas should have raised, are why aren't they the same and what can be done to make it better? Implicit in the message that the BLM group has been pushing is that it's all on the police; that there's nothing but institutional racism to account for the disparity. While there's no doubt that there's a component of that in play, there's also no doubt that there are multiple other factors as well. Poverty (which is undoubtedly related to race), gang activity, attitudes of minority communities towards police, family structure, and probably multiple other factors I can't even think of are also involved in the increased risk factors associated with these statistics. It's bullshit for affluent whites to think that there isn't an issue here, but it's also bullshit for the BLM folks to think that it's only the police that need to change in order to make things better.

 

I wonder what the numbers are of your break down for gender too. and species.

You didn't say "unarmed" victims. That is a subset over all the victims. So your statement was blatantly FALSE according to your own data. In point of fact, more white people were killed by police than minorities combined, even though they commit less violent crime overall.

And it's not some random odds, don't give me that bullshit, the majority of time people are shot for acting like thugs and committing crime. A portion of them are totally unnecessary. The difference is that whites don't cry in the street everytime a white thug is killed. Everyone is against excess force and police brutality. But don't try to claim that blacks or minorities are being targeted when less of them are shot while they commit more crime.
