...yeah, the Yanx still need to made another move or two...but if they don't, and if they don't like their PS chances next year at the trade deadline maybe use Chapman, et al, as trade chips. That's the only explanation that makes sense to me. Otherwise, Chapman is simply a one year rental.
Really this signals that our rotation sucks and can't produce deep into games. Couple that to an aging and off injured offense and you have a recipe for a .500 team with a talented bullpen. I'll wait for the axe to drop....Cashman can shove the shoe up his ass.
On that particular transaction man for man the Yankees made a deal. In regards to Chapmans "baggage" could be the old comedians "What a revolin' development t this is. I'm still cursing Cashman for trading Warren & Murphy.
I get the same gut feeling....... Bob Nightengale Verified account @BNightengale Cashman says the #Yankees plan to have 3 headed monster in bullpen but are open to trade Miller
Sorry about that boss, lol! This is all just beyond maddening. If mgmt is okay with throwing money around without nary a plan (read as one that has discernable logic) why the hell not just bite the bullet and release the dead weight. Write the big check and move on. You either waste a ton of money and time spreading the pain over 3 years or you rip off the bandage quickly, take the pain and move on. Cashman, beyond lacking imagination....his worst trait is his lack of courage. It's the one bad management trait I disdain the most.
Ok guys stop your bitching, we all know the Yankees will win the World Series in 2016. Remember folks you heard it here first.
...yup, like we've been saying his so called "plan" seems vague and inconsistent and without a "true north"
Honestly, releasing ARod in 2014/2015 off-season, CC this off season and Tex next off season would have made for a far better plan that resulted in spending little more (net) while promoting youth. Both financially and baseball-wise it would have been the smartest play.
