plots uncovered in new York, Los Angeles and Washington DC, as well as a different plot in Belgium. Do you think there will be an attack?

If you were in NY, London, DC, Paris, Brussels, ...etc., would you attend the new years celebrations tonight, stay home/hotel, or get the fuck out of Dodge?

EDIT: could a mod fix my thread title to "there be" instead of "thereby"

I have avoided crowded places on holidays for many decades...has nothing to do with ISIS but more with drunk drivers. I don't live in fear of ISIS attacking ..fuck them. They have no power over my choosing to go anywhere I please. They lose.

No way do I hang out in Time Square! But if the followers of Islam (ISIS?) do vent their will, do we expect the police to do battle with these quys?

When we reduce the armament of police to clubs, will we still expect them to wade into the attackers?

Isn't that what we have tactical response units for? Or do you think that every cop should be a tactical response unit?

That doesn't really address whether you believe that law enforcement should be geared similarly to your average grunt on the streets of Baghdad.

They're already sporting plate carriers, we might as well give them MICH helmets and M4 rifles to carry every day.

Dont stop there. Eric garner was choked to death by police. I say we take away their hands and arms! That way you can tell a good cop from a bad cop, the bad cop is the one drinking the coffee, the good cop is the one holding the cup for them.

Wouldn't that violate their right to "bare arms"?

Obama will amend the constitution to read "The right to no arms", which will both take away our guns and stop racist's from becoming police officers.

The only terrorist plot I heard of was Olive Garden in Times Square charging 400 dollars to be there and not serving breadsticks. I heard about it on local sports radio so I'm not sure if it is true.

    If it is...........

Gosh, I guess I am glad I was never a cop. Such ill will is rare. I do know some though; one Uncle was with OSP, one Chief in Oregon City, another Cheif in Belfast Northern Ireland, one Cousin with the FBI, one nephew currently with OSP, another a City cop. Never really heard any of them speak any hate toward people. Shit I couldn't do the job, I'd probably be on trial after each day on duty, no way could I put up with the bull shit people want to hand out.

Other than the many decades part this is how I feel. If it was fun to me I'd risk it. The wife and I went hiking at Red Rock on Christmas day. It was probably more dangerous than going to the strip.
