I know I've brought this up before but.....................with the exception of Jim Thome & Frank Thomas everyone else in the 500 HR club that played in the Griffey era has been connected to PEDs yet he gets an automatic pass.

During the 1990s only Mark McGwire hit more HRs yet Griffey gets a pass

Aside from Babe Ruth only 4 players ever had back to back 50 HR seasons with Griffey being one of them, the other 3 are named Sosa, McGwire & Rodriquez. Yet Griffey gets a pass.

Aside from Babe Ruth only 4 players have averaged 50 HRs over a 5 year period, Griffey being one of them, the other 3 are named Sosa, McGwire & Bonds. Yet Griffey gets a pass.

Some how he escaped the PED cloud. I don't get it. Lucky him.

My fondest memories of Griffey were him sniveling he'd never play for the Yankees because they treated his father shabbily. Screw you Junior.

^^I remember that. Wasn't it something about the Yankees not allowing any kids (JR.) into the locker room.

Nobody will ever be 100% so those in the media and about need to let it go.

...Rick, to be honest, I started wondering whether he was clean or not about the time he went to Cincy...he was only 30 years old but his body started breaking down on him...something just didn't seem right.
...of course, we'll never know now for sure one way or the other...one of the many unfortunate parts of the steroid era.

...and speaking again of writers, I saw an article about the HOF written by Buster Olney the other day...I usually agree with him on most topics but I lost a lot of respect for him after reading that last article.

do you have the link for that story, on 2nd thought since it was a bad article, never mind......

I was reviewing a few recent Olney articles, and came across this- (one paragraph out of many) - enough for me to say "that's enough".
    as follows:

"For the record: I stopped voting in the Hall of Fame last year. Before that, I voted for who I believed to be the best players on the ballot, regardless of PED history, for a couple of reasons:"

No Mas, regardless of PED History; really Buster...????
