With our travels across the Nation over 40 years, taking our GSD's from Dog Shows galore, to other Dog events. With Kim's own training and College studies in: "Sociobiology of Animal Behavior", to hanging around the Horse Whisperer himself (at Monte Roberts then nearby facilities) - along with some other incredible Dog, Horse, and other animal trainers, Kim was quickly certified by the AKC for many different disciplines of training, and testing of Dogs as an Instructor, Handler and AKC Representative. From participating in events, to judging events, from training others for numerous events, to simply being a spectator-

From the formation of our own GSD Kennels (encompassing all aspects of working with dogs or vice versa); as you all know from past posts on Dogs, in every discipline of Dog to Human interactions. Actually and this is no shit, Dog Training requires the Trainer to Train the Human more-so than their Dogs...

What I'm simply trying to say is:

With my Wife Kim, We've been around, longer than most to see 1st hand Dog competitions, from state to state, local to National shows and events: from Frisbee catching, to tricks and trials, done by some of the most intelligent dogs, who defy their nature often out performing even a Human, in most areas of any work or play. I've seen shit that blew my mind over the better part of 4-5 decades. ...

Last week, I saw a Documentary on Nat Geo, and this dog 'Jumpy' was the center of attraction, for a good reason. Just when I thought I had seen it all, here comes a dog that blows my mind......enjoy...there's more of these on You Tube.... "Jumpy, the Amazing Aussie"...!

and here I thought I was one of the original outdoor skating masterminds, that beget a generation of Venice Beach Roller Hockey, and Parkour Tricks...back in the days...

PS: never use "treats" to train your dog; like Pets Marts fraud trainers do. We learned long ago, when our 1st GSD bolted out of the Vets, (on the side of a Highway) as she flew out the door, what would she of done for a "Recall" without a treat? Probably of crossed the highway and been hit. So just say NO to trainers who use dog treats, in lieu of simple "Positive Reinforcements"; or have to input a troubled dog into their pack of dogs, to train it, that much is Milan's BS methodology, .........take it back south, back across the border where ya' belong and snuck in from under the fence,........!

The Guam war dog memorial.....25 dobermans out of 75 dogs that were volunteered from their families to serve as Marines gave their lives protecting their comrades.

My boy Ajax is a descendant (on his mother's side) of one of the veterans of the Guam campaign.

    A great article Tote, .....

and as great a K9 Soldier Statue,.....its damn great to see a Doby get their due, amongst the numerous GSD Vietnam War Memorial Statues, sure GSD's have always been the most widely used War Dogs, but Doby's can do just as much damage in War, as can a few other breeds.

Cheers to the Doby War Dogs, that have served damn near anonymously to the public's knowledge or lack of....many a human soldier's lives have been saved with the aide of these War Dogs....

Obviously these fine animals were sacrificed to locate IEDs, dangerous elements of cavernous places and so forth so a human marine could have his life for that day. Of course it took 50 years for the humans to give them a monument all their lineage would never see or understand. In a sense it is cruelty to animals whena grenade could do.

    new breed honors old....

Hands down, this is the breed of dog I'd want protecting me in battle. Chances are, every mid-aged Mali you see being handled by the TSA, if likely a veteran of multiple deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan.

Germans used dobies (defense) and gsds (offense) to great affect in WW2 as well. However, those dobies circa 1940 are not the same breed today...75 years of selection for "family dog" traits have mellowed this breed. There are still a few old school kennels in eastern europe that breed top schutzhund dobies.
