*sigh* You missed the ENTIRE point of it. Way over your head. I'll start remedial reading next door at 7. Come with food.
Fuck you. I get the point, y'all give him slack because he's 20 and get excited by any improvement. You missed my point though, and that is that people will look for any small thing as a reason to praise Vonleh, and any small thing as a reason to bash Leonard.
Nooooo... I'll @ least speak for myself (but pretty sure I'm not the only 1 here) on this 1, it's not that @ all; there r more glimpses early on w/ Vonleh vs. Meyers to being a real threat in this league.
I'll disagree. There are more glimpses that Vonleh is more likely to be a decent rotation player than Meyers, but I still think Meyers has shown more glimpses of being a threat.
You gotta be careful, Vonleh is the golden child around here. Hes off limits to talk about. But I agree hes not going to be anything special. We lost that trade. But ah well it was a "free try" because I wasnt a fan of Batum and wouldnt want to resign him anyways
Oh, we're already lost that trade? Interesting. I had no idea that Vonleh and Hendo were already a bust for us. Glad that you cleared that all up. You don't know how things would have played out with Batum. We might have been left with nothing after this season.... sound familiar? You don't know how things are going to play out with Vonleh. He's young and he hasn't even played a full season here. You don't know what's going to happen with Hendo. He might be moved before the trade deadline. There might still be assets to acquire by proxy of the Batum trade. In short.... you don't know.
u may... but u r wrong! jk Hahaha! Anywho, I meant early on (& I DO personally think what I've seen/said was/is right but that's just IMO); today comparing the 2 @ this moment, obviously Meyers can do more (he's had more time/played more) but overall, IF I had to choose today or in the future... I'm still goin' w/ Vonleh; I think Meyers is close to topped out. I'm not a Meyers hater but 1 of the things that does bug me about him & I don't think this will ever change about him (it's just how/who he is) is: he/every1 knows if he plays physically soft he'll catch a ton of hell, so w/ Kaman being his buddy & this "fan factor..." he puts on this psuedo physical play but the reason he cont. to get hit all the time IS bc every1 (opponents) CAN constantly smell blood in the water w/ him & play him physical (constantly hitting him in the face etc. to try to break him); Meyers has this thing going on but Vonleh doesn't. Vonleh ALREADY (@ his age mixing it up w/ men)/won't b afraid of contact/getting physical/getting hit. Vonleh also doesn't have an attitude & is doing exactly what is asked of him; some ppl's metrics r too heavily reliant on the stat sheet to look for progress/talent. Toney Allen (this yr. however, he's finally started to show he's human & on a decline) all the way up to this yr. is a great example of the stat sheet doesn't mean much when it comes to impact in games; ppl might sight his gaudy steals to say he's a good defender BUT that's only a fraction of the story w/ him, u look @ the rest of his stats & there r many scrubs that have better averages vs. him; he's been 1 of the league's best defenders for a long time & u know this from watching him & seeing what the league thinks about him. Vonleh's teammates have already said the things he does/way he is in practice r impressive. Vonleh's a "Golden Child" around here for reasons, us fans aren't just making things up about him; we've all heard things about him/seen some good things w/ our very own eyes.
I don't get the vonleh hate. When a young guy plays limited minutes I look for positive plays, not stats. Maybe in way off but he looks way more polished around the rim then any of our big guys. Why we didn't try him on zbo is mind blowing... Noah is a pretty good defender and has a lonnggg reach.
We have no idea if Vonleh is schooling Meyers in practice or not...we know Meyers just had a bad slump..1-20 or so from deep for a stretch there. Could be his shoulder is not 100% yet and they're being cautious but I trust the coaching staff to make the right decision. Both guys are young and both have skills...best man will win the minutes and my gut says they want to develop Vonleh sooner than later.
At the end of the comparison, they're both Blazers and as of now, they're both playing so it's not really a problem..I like rebounding from the PF spot and I prefer Leonard at center now more than I used to.
Golden Child? Off limits to talk about? Hopefully there is a link coming that shows any example of that. Who knows what he is going to be but in most cases, Big Men take longer to develop, he already has some natural skills that are unique (he just doesn't show them often) and this trade is no where near it's conclusion till at least after this summer at the soonest. The kid certainly has a long way to go. Most people just wonder why if you are going to start him, why you don't run several looks for him so his time out there isn't just setting picks for guards and crashing the boards.
Wait... wait... wait a minute... he's not? Ah man... in that case, I take back all the good things I ever said about Vonleh; Vonleh just sucks then & the only thing he'll ever b good @ is sucking I think this clip sums up him/our Blazers & covers any1 remotely like him/them:
Stren how you gonna talk down to me then not even reply? Polished? I continually see him bricking hook shots off the backboard and spinning himself out of an open shot and into defense.
