Coached an NBA franchise. Thibs was the fastest to win 100 games in the NBA. His .647 career winning % puts him among the all time best coaches.
Steve Kerr got that record after GS beat LA on Tuesday I believe. He's won 100 games out of 117. Good lord.
The 2nd-greatest NBA coach ever after Dick Motta, Bill Fitch won 1100 games. After Donald Sterling fired him, he's still available! His winning percentage would be higher if he hadn't been saddled with the 2 worst teams of the generation, the Clippers and the Nets. At the Nets, he made players out of Chris Dudley, Sam Bowie, Mookie Blaylock, and Drazen Petrovic. Not mentioning Bird, McHale, Parrish. But my favorite days were when he was a character in Cleveland in the 70s...OK I won't get started.
How come you're not telling us who was the fastest to win 200, 300, 400, etc.? I mean, to be consistent in your methodology.
I always thought Nash would be great, same feeling I used to have about Jeff Hornacek & Kerr, they were just smart players - i thought Greg Anthony might head that way too.
I say why compromise....hire Thibs as the defensive coach and Stotts as the head coach....bingo..contender..best of both worlds..Thibs is the best defensive coordinator in the the league and has history with Plumlee and Lillard..if you had to pick between them, I'd lean toward Stotts but I'm a loyal guy
Very homerish post. Thibs is gonna have his pick of the litter. He's gonna get PAID next season. If he takes an assistant position his agent is gonna commit suicide.
If you're going to be a defensive coordinator, be the best in the world, enjoy not having the media attention of a head coach..stranger things have happened and he should be well paid in that capacity but come on dviss....homerish post? Dude that's what I do! I like Stotts...Rivers and Thibs won a ring in Boston. He's been well paid and Paul Allen has deep pockets...it is what is is.
