we didnt have a timeout leftwe had 0-0cavs had 1-1but besides that great write upit was a interesting game..wally sucked tho 4-13
I could have sworn we had a 20 second timeout left. I'll hold you to it, considering you were at the game and you saw the scoreboard, but I was almost positive.
we didnt have a timeout for the final possesion.....nice job there. And wally played lame on offense but it would have been over with 4 minutes left if wally didnt step up on d like he did. He deflected a bunch of passes and played hard nosed d. Big al put up good stats but took a ton of stupid shots and turned the ball over too much. Defense wasnt great from anyone except allen and wally at the end. And dont even rip on wally's 3 at the end, there was like 1.5 seconds left he couldnt have risked not getting a shot off by passing the ball off. Perk played poor. His d wasnt really there and he didnt do well on the boards. gomes was kind of missing for most the game. took a couple shots but was really not an impact. bassy played GREAT. He didnt make mistakes and his midrange j was looking very nice. Delonte was solid with some good 4th quarter buckets but not much else. Green played good but not great. Took a lot of ill advised shots and missed that wide open layup on the break when he had 2 guys with him but still got his. Scal was the scal we love, which is the one we hate. Im happy we contended but if we played just a little bit smarter we could have easily taken the W

We had none. BUT. I finally had my last straw with Wally, haha. After the game I stood there and screamed "WALLY YOU f*cking SUCK I f*cking HATE YOU". I can't stand him any more. His shots aren't falling. He doesn't move without the ball. He can't run well. His defense is nonexistant. And especially tongiht, with Gerald playing oh so well. Past Wally, and Doc, who seemed as if he was pulling names out of a hat tonight, I thought the Celtics played great. I would have never thought it would have came down to a last second miss. Tony and Gerald played GREAT defense on LeBron. In the first quarter Tony was AMAZING denying LeBron of the ball and the Cavs made the adjustment and let LeBron bring it up some and get it to him higher up. But both of these guys played great D on him, and that just goes to show how good LeBron actually is. They were in his face nearly every shot, and he was still drilling them. But them two played great, as did Al who was on a roll on offense, but like you said, couldn't really handle Illgauskus' size. Delonte played pretty well again, at one point it looked like he aggrivated his back again, but he got back up and gutted it out. Boy do I love that about this kid, he's willing to do anything to play and win. I also thought Bassy played EXTREMELY well. He ran the game so well, and was very nice offensively. Tony was so good tonight, that it almost seems unfair that he had to miss that free throw. The kid has worked very very hard and came a long way since his early season stuggles. I respect Tony for that. He stuck with it and is playing well. That was a gritty game by this team tonight, they played a lot better than I thought they would have and I was really surprised at that. They're scrappy, they fight. I like to see that in such a young team.

I thought we had a 20 left, no need to get all sarcastic about it because we didn't. 2. Wally made one key pass deflection. He didn't "step up and play hard nosed D" like you say. He lost lost on switches and he couldn't keep up with the quickness. 3. Big Al didn't throw up terrible shots. He may have missed a couple, but he didn't throw up anything out of the ordinary. You also have to take into account the size of Big Z. 4. Perk didn't play poorly. He played tough down low, and did a much better job on Z than Big Al. 5. Delonte was solid with some buckets, BUT NOT MUCH ELSE? How about the pass deflections HE was making? How about how well he was in pick and roll situations? How about how well he moved the ball on offense? Delonte played a good game. 6. Gerald took a lot of ill-advised shots? I'll give you one, two at the very most. You may not like the look of that runner, or his tweener floaters, but the fact of the matter is that it's his game. He can make those shots, and he has all season long. So he missed that layup, he still tipped it back up and in. He also made some great hustle plays, a CLUTCH drive and score with about 37 seconds to go, and his defense on LeBron was not all that bad. Also note that Gerald moved VERY well without the ball tonight, something he doesn't always do all that well.
Good game, reguardless of the loss, I was proud of the way the Celtics handed themselves tonight. Also, how about Gerald burning by LeBron for a layup? He looked liked the Iceman George Gervin on that drive. I'm also happy about Al Jefferson, he's really turning a corner in his game right now, he's turning into a Dwight Howardesque type of player. He's been a double-double machine ever since starting at the center position. Once again, I have to go back to Doc, what the hell was that lineup late in that game? Four guards and one big man? Where was Gomes? Where was Powe? We weren't hitting shots down the stretch and we had nobody to to rebound offensively after the misses aside from AL J who was getting easily boxed out because he was the only big on the floor. Regaurdless of all of that it was still a great game for the Celtics.

And dont even say geralds shot werent ill advised alot of his shots he made I was cursing him for before they went in. There was a strech in the 2nd quarter where he would get the ball about 18 ft at the top of the key everytime and just fling up wild shots. He missed like 2 then made one then started roling. His threes were questionable, even though he shot a high percentage. He didnt want to pass to open men on the wing like delonte and allen he just flung up shots. Not saying he played badly but his shot selection would have kept him under 20 pts on any other night. Also the layup he missed he didnt tip back in he missed and bron grabbed the board and it was a big momentum shifter at the time because we were losing our lead.I dont think we played smart bball all in all. But still tony played awesome and so did bassy but thats all ill say.
And dont even say geralds shot werent ill advised alot of his shots he made I was cursing him for before they went in.
The thing is, that's his game. The fall-aways off 1 foot, the fadeaways, the finger rolls, the runners... that is his game. It's nothing new. That is a reason why he's such an effective scorer, aside from the fact that he can shoot the ball, because he has all those tweener shots that can't be taught. You either have it, or you don't. He has it. Why would you want Gerald to pass to the open man, when he's hot that that? And when HE is open with the ball? No. When you have a rhythm like that and you are a young scorer, you go for it. I disagree. Again, that's his game. Gerald was on a break away, in the second quarter... he missed a finger roll after hop stepping to the left side, and he tipped it back up and in. Gerald DID tip that layup back in.
