You are so right! And there seems to be a growing group of us who watch Terry with consternation when Meyers passes up open shots.
I can't see the game but Meyer's is 1-5 from SWISH3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sure his post game is making up for it though.
Statistically, we can expect that if Meyers takes another 5 shots, he will make 3 of them. The 9 points would be enough to take the lead again.
Who would that be Meyers? Yeah, he sucked again tonight. He can barely even set a pick. I watched him off ball a lot tonight. He can't screen to save his life. That PG? Yeah... He had 9 assists tonight and Lillard time shooting in a game against the team leading our division but you'll still find a reason to throw shade...
I'm happy Leonard bet on himself. Would rather spend money on the Harkless/Crabbe project than the Leonard one.
Haha. Only 30? Blazers took 44 threes and shot 43%. Of course, the five or six in a row we made at the end there kind of helped. Meyers was 1-5.
I like these joke accounts, they always do such a marvelous job of driving up post counts. @Denny Crane must be pleased
At least this thread brought attention to shooting more 3-point shots, which was the intention. Bravo to Dame! Can you imagine the scoring threat when both Meyers and Dame are on a hot streak with swish3s? Meyers and Dame combining for 40-50 points is the strong Blazer scoring that I look forward to celebrate.
I'm pleased that we go beyond the message board and have meet ups and the RC2 suite for the OKC game.
In light of the joke that is this thread let's keep it going. Finish the thread title.... Start Meyers Leonard......... Trade discussions On testosterone injections A gofund me account to purchase some testicles
ive tried to make excuses for meyers since we've had him and im finally waving the white flag. I have tickets close to the floor and what ive realized on defense and when it comes to rebounding is he is just too slow laterally. yes, he is athletic because he can jump and once he gets a full head of steam he is fast for his size which is great for transition. but his foot speed side to side is incredibly slow. probably why he is better at defending players like marc gasol in the post and probably why he cant chace rebounds that dont hit him in the face. I will give him credit he is trying to up his physicality ( especially last night) but it looked like a younger brother that had finally had enough but just doesnt know how to fight. I hope he has a great second half of the year but the more i watch, the more im starting to think this is his last year. unless we get him for a bargain and hes our 5th big.
And that's just the thing. If he keeps playing this way we very well could retain him for cheap - which I would totally do, just in case he ever puts it all together. This might work out in our favor in the long run. He's certainly been the most disappointing player of the season. However, I haven't fully given up on him. I would LOVE to see him play under a new coach who knows how to use him. He has a couple of unique skills, and despite what he's shown on the floor he's fairly intelligent. His biggest problems are over-thinking and lack of confidence - this is what leads to him passing up open shots. Because he has some skills and some intelligence I will hold out hope. But first I will hope that we're able to retain him on an MLE-or-less contract - I certainly wouldn't be giving him $10M/year!
I agree with this. He can be a decent role player. But do not pay him more than the 5-7 mil a year. No way he has peaked. He will get better.
Even when he doesn't deliver his presence alone creates space for the others. Even though it appears we're playing 4-on-5 with him on the court, the other team can't completely ignore him like most 4-on-5 line-ups in the league. They still have to keep an eye on him and close-out whenever he receives a pass up top - teams didn't even bother doing that in Dame/LMA pick/pops. So even if he puts up an egg, he's still serving a purpose.
What would you do if one of the kids you were coaching kept passing up shots you knew they could make... Game after game? Frown?
