Hit up the acropolis last night for a buddies 30th bday. That place is the best strip club I've ever been to. It's literally the only strip club I've been interested in going to the past year. The food is delicious, pitchers are cheap and girls are friendly and on point.

Got my wife some take home when I left, it was her first time eating food at the acrop and she was impressed. Thought I was lying when I said the food was awesome but now she believes me lol

Hey El P, I know some people who are going to be in LA this April and they want to go to one of the good/popular LA restaurants. They said they are interested in going to Nobu, would you say that qualifies or would you have other suggestions that you think they should check out instead?

Maybe somewhere that has less seafood?

I believe we don't actually forget anything, rather we only recall that which is relevant.

It's my hypothesis that this is how people are able to "see their lives flash before their eyes" when they have a near death experience. Similar to a chemical reaction where this + these = that, when this and these are alone they are inert.

In other words I think you can literally relive incidents from your past, down to the warmth of the sun on your face, the pain of a bee sting, strong feelings of emotion, etc...

It depends what they are looking for. If they want more of an awesome "environment", then Nobu Malibu is a great place to be (go daytime). Eat outside, great view. I've never eaten there personally since I don't really ever go to Malibu due to the distance/traffic but I know its pricy and Nobus are all around the world. I really don't eat a lot of super high end japanese, it just gets expensive for what you get. Get your reservations outside now though. It books really fucking fast when the weather is nice. If they are celeb hunting, its probably more likely to bump into them on a weekday lunch since the weekends are full of annoying santa monica yuppies.

You can get the same view at Moonshadows in Malibu (I think this is where Mel Gibson got loaded when he got his DUI) for a ton cheaper. Or hell, even happy hour and drinks. Its sushi/japanese food that's pretty expensive but its high end and its right on the ocean. Another place that's a total scene is Mastro's in Beverly Hills. Pretty decent steaks, really loud and they have live music upstairs.

If they want a sick view dining at Sunset, go to The Huntley Hotel in Santa Monica. View is crazy but its up on top of a hotel.

If they are more foodies, LA has really good Taco Trucks, Korean BBQ, Gormet burgers/gastropubs, Ramen, Middle Eastern, Thai Food, Regional Chinese Food, Modern American and farm to table.

So I went to a club for the first time in a long time, I was hooking up pretty hard with a chick on the dance floor and my buddy starts taking a video,. She saw it, got pissed (I was actually fingering her and grabbing her boobs a shit ton) and that was the biggest cockblock of 2016 so far.

Oh yeah, Manhattan Beach Post in Manhattan Beach is pretty fucking awesome. I love eating there, can get crowded on the weekends and it has a good looking and hip crowd, present company excluded. Its in the South Bay so a bit further from Hollywood/LA/etc.

I know one of them loves a good hamburger with egg on it, and the other would absolutely be interested in spotting celebs. I said I'd look for suggestions and they told me "Find out where to go to bump into Kim Kardashian". I mentioned the food carts because I knew LA was big for them. That might be what they end up doing.

    Thanks for the help!

If someone asked me where I would suggest in general for an LA Newb to see what its all about I'd go:

    1. Pann's Diner near LAX. It is the sister restaurant of the Pulp Fiction diner (which closed a while ago). It has googie architecture and an old school vibe. Great breakfasts and a Pattie Melt.

    2. Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles = Go to the one on Pico/La Brea or the one in Hollywood to get the full experience.

    3. Father's office: Gastropub in Culver City (one in Santa Monica too) with good beers and an awesome burger which is famous for the no-ketchup and no modifications policy. Good place to go drinking on an afternoon and have a dope gourmet burger that actually kicked the whole gourmet burger concept off the ground.

    4. Gjelina in Venice = awesome small plates/pizza/sharing plates in venice. really always highly rated and always crowded. On a really cool street (Abbott Kinney)

    5. Langer's Pastrami = area is sketch but many say its the best Pastrami in the US.

    6. Do a taco crawl. Leo's Tacos for Al Pastor. Guisado's for stewed tacos. Mariscos Jalisco for Shrimp Tacos, Ricky's Fish Tacos for Fish Tacos.

Still on the plate: Get some dope armenian/persian food, korean bbq, dim sum, etc.

Most of the food trucks in LA suck to be honest. The Taco trucks are where its at.

Do you think Roscoe's is good or is it over hyped and over rated?

Edit: Never mind just saw your post!

You're most likely to bump into the Kardashians at Mastro's, Nobu Malibu, Mr. Chow's, Urth Cafe on Melrose and Beverly Hills (coffee shop), the Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel (brunch on Saturday/Sunday). Most places you'd have to be going at night and its hard to get tables and they'll have private rooms and shit. Chances are really low, I don't really go to celeb spots.

I like it, its not mindblowing food its just good ol' southern food. Waffles with scoops of butter, etc. There are better chicken and waffle spots like The Serving Spoon and even Pann's.

Its more for the experience to be honest. The one on Pico is the one where Obama went and its bigger, etc. It was actually the first place I ate when I moved to LA and I had to go through a metal detector and the Nation of Islam security to get in (was the only non-black person in the spot at like 2am).

The only time I can recommend going to seek out food carts is if they happen to be in LA the first Friday of the month. Abbott Kinney Blvd in Venice is overtaken with food trucks and they're all there. The only ones I really like are the Kogi truck (Korean Tacos), the Grilled Cheese Truck. The others are more gimmicks than actually good.

Oh yeah, Lawry's the Prime Rib in Beverly Hills is a really fun experience. No celebs though, but huge honkin' slabs of prime rib taken out to you on stainless steel carts and carved tableside.

Sounds dope to me but I doubt they would go for that. They are looking for a fancy dining experience. Mastro's seems like its right up their alley.
