    ...the longer these ^^^ guys wait it out, the lesser their value will be.

    ...I think Davis should have taken the O's offer when they first offered it.

    ...yup, I agree...Davis is one of those "all or nothing" players. He would serve a certain team well who's specifically in need of a LHed power bat.

    ...I'm just more of a "complete" baseball player kind of fan...I'd rather have player who does everything well as opposed to having a player who only does one thing very well.

    Being a career 255 hitter & a decent 1st baseman he doesn't quite fall into the all or nothing category that players like Dunn or Kingman fell into but he's definitely not worth the money that the O's offered him which is why I think he was an ass for turning it down.

    ...actually, Dunn and Davis are very close...their HR rate (both good) and SO rate (both terrible) are almost identical...(all or nothing)...neither's defense is anything special...also;

    Davis; .255 .330 .506 .835 OPS+ 122

    Dunn; .237 .364 .490 .854 OPS+ 124

    ...but the main distinguishable difference between Davis and Dunn is that Davis is the only one to turn down a 7 year/$154 Mil contract offer. :bgrin:

    wow, Wang is still throwing gopher killers?

    Don't know how I missed Neftali Feliz, DFA from Detroit signed by The Bucs, a month ago. Gotta' love his 7.62 ERA with Detroit in 30 appearances..... ;

    once as dominant a closer as it comes for a young kid, then a has been after blowing out his arm/shoulder, never to be more than a stain on a minor league score card.....

    Ron when ever I see shit like this (Davis) I'm reminded of Ex-Knick Latrell Spreewell who many years back turned down a 3 year $21M contract claiming that he couldn't feed his family on a lousy $7M a year. Bottom line....he never played another game in the NBA.

    Greed is good, just stupid to go public with it. If Speedwell kept his trap shut and let his agent talk he would have gotten a deal done.
