His wife Iman who I knew personally was a major bitch but his classic Christmas duet with Bing Crosby is one of my all time favorite holiday tunes. RIP David.
There's a starman waiting in the sky, He'd like to come and see us, But he thinks he'd blow our minds. Bowie did some good stuff along his musical route.
I could never forget David Jones aka Bowie. I saw his Ziggy Stardust Tour in Long Beach, in 72/73, which turned me on to his "other" LP's released in Brittan but not yet the USA. I can honestly say I was the first kid in school to have a Bowie Ziggy era haircut, and the ONLY kid..."NO flaming Orange hair dye", said Mom, and "NO dresses", "But Mom, they're not dresses, their Dashikis"....found a pair of 5 inch, silver glitter boots too, same type Ansley Dunbar wore on the DD tour, and I thought I was hot shit; everyone else thought I took one too many hits of something..... 1 Record Store in Hollywood, "Licorice Pizza" has his imports of "Hunky Dory", touche 59-, "Space Oddity", "The Man Who Sold the World", saw his "Diamond Dogs Tour" as well, and "Station to Station" was at the Great Western Forum, of which 18,998 out of 19,000 fans danced the entire Concert, my buddy and I were the only 2 seating..... Just watched several Bowie moment films on Saturday, "Live at Hammersmith Odeon 73", and "Story Tellers", I didn't even know He was sick, ..... I laughed and shook his hand, and made my way back home I searched for form and land, for years and years I roamed I gazed a gazely stare at all the millions here We must have died alone, a long long time ago Who knows? not me We never lost control You're face to face With the Man who Sold the World
Ground control to Major Tom.....best version ever. Some really great obits out there today.... https://www.washingtonpost.com/ente...p-top-table-main_bowieobit-3am:homepage/story Prince and now Lady GaGa carry on his style and showmanship.
