Nick Saban has accepted an offer from Alabama to coach the Crimson Tide and leave the Miami Dolphins, two weeks after declaring "I'm not going to be the Alabama coach." http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2718488Good move by him I think. It was his dream job, might as well go for it if you have the oppurtunity.
It was a good desicion..but he did go against his word.I think his wife had alot to do with the desicion though, so you can't blame him for leaving really..Besides he's better in college anyways..
It's probably a good move for Saban to coach Alabama. Usually college football has less demands of the coach than NFL. But the thing that really pisses me off is that he went against his word after he kept telling everybody that he was going to stay in Miami. That just shows what kind of a person Saban is. I know he wants people to think he's loyal to his team but what he did was terrible. Dolphins players and fans will hate him for it but I guess that's how life is. I just hope that the Dolphins find a good coach to replace Saban because we need to move up and not down. I wish Saban all the best on his new coaching job.

He'll show that team how to truely suck.</div>MIKE MULARKY!!!!!!!!!!!!My dad is a cousin of Mularky, he as at his weading (but he is now devorced). He is the man
F*ck you Nick. What a lying piece of sh*t traitor. He practiced the importance of dedication and stressed how important it is to be true to ones word. He betrayed everyone. He should have been a man and shown some loyalty to our organization, in which gave him a chance to coach in the NFL and complete player control on top of that. We opened our arms and gave him what he wanted and this is how he treats us. This bastard's a sell out and a FAILURE. Good ridance.
I don't really mind that Saban left the team, for the big fact that it just seemed he didn't want to be an NFL coach. He got his taste of the NFL in two seasons, realized it wasn't the game for him and left after two seasons. If you don't love something, your not going to put as much as you can into it. It is much better from my point of view that he leave the Dolphings if he doesn't enjoy coaching there, rather than stay and do a half-hearted job with my favorite team. This allows us to bring in a coach that does love coaching at the NFL level, as well as put him back at a place he is comfortable in the SEC and college. Plus he got paid, and I can't knock the guy for wanting to get a pay day like that, I have never had that much money laid at me and don't know what I would do.As for the saying he would not leave the Dolphins, I don't mind that either. It was still during the season, and I would rather him say that to keep the Dolphins players playing hard, rather than say during the season that he is going to be leaving.

There is no loyalty in professional sports. Teams dump coaches all the time and Saban did what was good for him. Just because Miami gave him a chance he's supposed to stay there? When a better job comes along you go for it. You don't stay at a company because they gave you your start, if you get offered a better job you go for it... How can you blame a guy for doing something like this? Honestly.
I think Saban was smart on HIS end. He didn't fit in the NFL, he wasn't sucessful, so he returned to where he dominated. College football is his home, and he'll do well at Bama. He's getting a ton of money, and he likes the small town life better than big city Miami.
You guys shouldn't be suprised, he said he wasn't going to leave LSU and he did...He likes to be completely in control of his program, which he wasn't in the NFLHe likes to be the 'dad' figure to the kids during college. He knows how to recruit the south already.'bama will be a powerhouse in 4 years.

It's not even so much the fact he took the job, but the way he contacted the coaching staff by speakerphone and not inperson, the way he said nothing to his players, and the way he completely lied about the whole deal. He also apparently standed for "continuity, honesty, hard work and loyalty", then he does this. All the players bought into him and his system and now he bails on them. If we go 9-7..10-6 and make the playoffs, this isn't happening, instead he's hit with his first bit of adversity and leaves. He didn't even have the guts to explain why either. Instead, he jumped on the first plane out, pretending to be on his cell phone.

He did. Local news, NFL Network, some Dolphins forums, words around. Also, to those who think Alabama went after Saban, that's not true at all. NFL Network said that Saban told his Agent to get in contact with Alabama for the open spot. How pathetic. Here's two good articles:http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/sport...ll/16374957.htmhttp://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/sto...&id=2718798
It doesn't seem like Miami cares too much. I wouldn't fret too much over it if you're a Dolphins fan.
