Did anyone else here watch this game? It was on ESPN. I watched it, and it really was a good game. Anyway, Ohio State won and Greg Oden played very well. His line was like 20 points, 5 rebounds, 4 blocks. But he played excellent on both ends, and he made one HUGE block. He was under the basket, and a Hoosier threw up a floater. Oden jumped over the moon and threw that ball back, only to half court. It was amazing! But offensively, he was pretty solid. He was effective on the offensive glass and he got some nice cleanup dunks and tips. He shot 9-10 or something like that from the free throw line... LEFTY. That's amazing, especially for a 7 foot center. Also, Oden has been taking a little bit off the brace every game or two. Last night was the first time he played a game this year with his palm unprotected, so he could finally bend his wrist. Another guy who was very impressive for Ohio St. was the freshman guard, Mike Conley. I am a huge fan of this kid. Every time I have ever seen him play (twice in high school, 3 times in college), he plays excellent under control basketball. The kid does everything on the floor. He's a good ballhandler and he can split double-teams, he has excellent court vision and he's a very good passer (he's also on pace to shatter Ohio State's single season assist record), he is a good penetrator, he's a good defensive player from what I have seen (sticks with his man, doesn't get lost in switches, fights through screens), he plays very poised, and he limits his mistakes. I don't think he even turned the ball over once last night. Conley had an excellent game last night, and if you are looking for a stat line, I know he had at least 8 assists. Another guy I am a big fan of on Ohio State is Daequan Cook. The kid can play. He's a good shooter, he has solid size (about 6'5''), he's extremely athletic, he's got a solid mid-range game, he can hurt you off penetration if he has a decent opening, and he a pretty consistent shooter. Last night, he hit a big 3 and he made a couple very nice offensive plays (especially that alley-oop dunk he caught off the inbound pass). This guy is going to be a good pro as well, watch out for him.
I watched the game last night and I was impressed as usual with the OSU Buckeyes. Conley btw, had 0 turnovers, and 10 assists. Daequan Cook is an excellent defender, and he can shoot the ball like crazy. I love the way he plays, also got good size to be 2 guard in the NBA. Cook is there leading scorer, and he's shooting 57% from the field, and 52% from 3. Thats just ridiculous. Conley will be an outstanding player, and he's one of the most underated freshman in the country. Oden's the best player in the country, but he's also got 2 very very talented freshman behind him in Conley and Cook.
Of course I watched this game. Although I like IU I was rooting for Ohio State because of their two hoosiers: Oden and Conley.

But I will admit there were calls that weren't called that should have been. The fact is, if OSU keeps playing the way they are and not the way they should be, they will be gone in the second round come March. After Oden's hand heals and he starts playing for real (because he isn't now, he is still using his left hand) then I will start to decide if I am happy with their performance or not, because right now they are underachieving and playing horrible defense as a whole. The Indiana game was better defensively. They are good enough to be Final Four material, but they aren't playing good enough right now.
You know Oden is left-handed right?Heh, just kidding, but Daquan Cook is the best player on the Buckeyes right now, but clearly Oden has more talent and physical gifts.
